Ha ha right! If only Trump had some way of combatting how unfair this is! I have a crazy idea though, so hear me out. Instead of having two separate town halls on the same day at the same time, what if both candidates did an event together where they can discuss the issues at the same time?
Now that's just crazy talk.. I mean two candidates together discussing the issues like some sort of ... of... Debate!
I saw that. Like most people, I assumed that trump would have bigger ratings, and I was unhappy with NBC scheduling trump's town hall opposite Biden's. What a mistake on my part. Guthrie was terrific, mainly because she contrasted so sharply with the awful job done by the moderators of the 1st presidential debate and the only VP one. Meanwhile, viewers were apparently so turned off by trump's disastrous debate performance last time that they preferred the less stressful opportunity to get to know Joe Biden better, something Biden was happy to provide for an hour and a half, even staying another half hour answering questions from the audience. I should have listened to the advice I often give, and before these town halls were broadcast. Never assume.
Yeah, Trump operates more on instinct with a cycle of preprogrammed reactions than long term survival. It's always about finding a rube to save him or a mark he's owed to turn the tide. The counterprogramming schtick worked for him as an underdog candidate...true, but it's his fault he **** the bed in the first round and it's his fault there isn't a second debate because of his private White House covid clownshow. I bet most undecideds were like... I'll hear Joe out and watch the sportscenter lowlights of the other guy.
