    Unfortunately not. when you have protectionist customs unions like the EU and subsidy heavy nations like the PRC I'm not sure how you encourage global free trade. Now a liberal trade voice is leaving the EU, and China has agreed to lower some tariffs this tactic might pay off.

    Care to answer my question which asks an opinion instead of a simple fact you could have googled? Much more interesting.

    Trump flashing shinning objects to divert attention away from the Mueller investigation,

    now that his lies have been debunked by GOPers on FoxNews

    Everyone protects their own industries and the world is in constant flux. I never bought the Trump economic/trade narrative.

    I think it’s overblown, if the EU wants to continue protectionist measures that only lead to inefficiencies then so be it. America certainly has its protectionist policies but there’s a balance that leads to greater innovation and competition over time.

    The US’s problem is we focus to much on supply side issues when capital is global and moves around as such.

    I hope the affected industries and countries have enough talented hackers who will interfere with America's democratic process enough to punish Trump for this move!

    Wait no...that's actually not all right....right? Is it?

    you mean, US under Trump's watch.

    under Obama / Bill Clinton's watch, the opposite was true;
    • taking back / elminating the tax breaks given to the uber rich
    • passing laws to protect consumers and the environment

    I think he is referring to the proposed Ian Desmond (Rockies) trade for Joey Gallo (Rangers)... but not certain.

    Under Clinton and Obama a lot of wealth was transferred up the ladder, intentionally or not. I do agree that they did considerably more on your bulleted points.

    Canada, Mexico and the EU are doing this wrong. They should've just funneled some money into a Trump branded project or helped out Ivanka or Jared. It's working for the PRC and ZTE..

    Only a person as incompetent, corrupt and terrible as Trump could declare a trade war with China and get clowned into instead declaring a trade war on European allies while carving out special benefits for China and "saving chinese jobs" at ZTE.

    He is not just the worst president in history, he might be the singularly least capable person on a planet of 7 billion. Seriously, a mannequin who just had acting cabinet secretaries and that could rubber stamp whatever documents congress passed would be exponentially better.
