Makes sense. I've worked mostly from home for quite a while. But what is happening as part of this situation is companies are discovering LOTS of people can actually work from home, and I would think many of those who are working during this will continue to do so. Even moreso if they have to stay home to take care of their kids. Hence I hadn't thought of this aspect.

    Enter Sandman
    _______

    Say your prayers, little one
Don't forget my son to include everyone
I tuck you in, warm within, keep you free from sin
    Till the sandman he comes
    Sleep with one eye open
    Gripping your pillow tight

    Exit light
    Enter night
    Take my hand
    We're off to never-never land

Something's wrong, shut the light, heavy thoughts tonight
    And they aren't Snow White
Dreams of war, dreams of liars, dreams of dragon's fire
And of things that will bite, yeah
    Sleep with one eye open
    Gripping your pillow tight

    Exit light
    Enter night
    Take my hand
    We're off to never-never land

Now I lay me down to sleep
Now I lay me down to sleep
Pray the lord my soul to keep
Pray the lord my soul to keep
If I die before I wake
If I die before I wake
Pray the lord my soul to take
Pray the lord my soul to take

Hush, little baby, don't say a word
And never mind that noise you heard
It's just the beasts under your bed
In your closet, in your head

    Exit light
    Enter night
    Grain of sand
    Exit light
    Enter night
    Take my hand
    We're off to never-never land

    Boo!
    Yeah, yeah
    No, oh, yeah
    We're off to never-never land
    Take my hand
    We're off to never-never land
    Take my hand
    We're off to never-never land

"sole focus" is children. Not teacher, not other school workers, not parents, not grand-parents, not society...

    This angle was not expected.

I don’t recall all the data now but trump is probably right that children are affected by this virus in a similar way to the flu. Purely from that angle, it makes sense for kids to be back in school so they do not fall behind in their education and so that parent can work instead of watching them at home - an economic boom.

But if kids get infected and pass it on to teacher, to parent, to grand-parent and to society at large (this is the RISK)... If the parent is infected and have long lasting problems or die, the kids education and the value to the economy is negative. That's the trade-off, the risks that many parent have to weight.

You saying you think he's trying to funnel public dollars to religious schools? Or at least talking out loud about it? I interpreted it as something different. But interesting.

I think so...but I don't think it's really his idea...this is something that Devos has been wanting for a long time and she's been in his ear probably the whole time. I don't think Trump really cares.

Covid-19 Spread Fastest by Teens and Tweens, Korea Study Finds

Older children are more likely to spread Covid-19 within a household than younger children and adults, according to a new study of 5,706 coronavirus patients in South Korea.

The researchers traced and tested nearly 60,000 people who had contact with the infected people and found that, on average, 11.8% of household contacts tested positive for Covid-19, according to the early release of a study published on the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website.

For people who lived with patients between the ages of 10 and 19, 18.6% tested positive for the virus within about 10 days after the initial case was detected -- the highest rate of transmission among the groups studied. Children younger than 10 spread the virus at the lowest rate, though researchers warned that could change when schools reopen.

The study comes on the heels of an intensifying debate about whether, when and how schools should resume classes. Working parents around the world have been struggling to balance their own remote work with the added complication of school closures. There is intense pressure on political leaders. In the U.S., the Trump administration has threatened to withhold federal funds for local school districts that fail to reopen.

At the same time, virus rates have been rising again, even in places that thought they’d extinguished their outbreaks, and many teachers are wary of returning to the classroom. State data suggests the infection rates among children could also be far higher than the 2% reported by the CDC.

The South Korean study suggests that older children may be particularly contagious, although the researchers point out that household contacts could have contracted the virus elsewhere. Still, given the high rates of infection within families, the study called for more research to understand how to limit the spread of the virus at home.

I don't have kids, but won't it be terrible for parents hugging their kids at night, with just a sliver of doubt now: "Was he/she exposed in school today?" Everyday.

Yea, the fear of parent catching this is real. It's also not just about themselves. Here is the other thing that is very real - if a parent catch it, they have to isolate for 14 days. If both parent catch it, or for a single house hold, who take care of the kids, especially if they are young? That's also calculate into parent decision. It sure does for me.

So...because Mariano Rivera has more saves than anyone else, we should open schools? Got it...

And the next guy has around 50 less saves. Clearly not double. As a matter of fact, you have to go to the 20th all time before you get to double.
