I mean even if he was to get impeach for a power grab, the mueller investigation isn't going to stop and come out regardless. It'll still taint his presidency and the republicans are spineless right now and will back Trump no matter what, so I don't see an impeach happening with a power grab. It'll be for sure interesting when the house will pass the resolution on the SOE and force the senate to vote on it. Be interesting how many republicans still back Trump up

You can quit pretending to be a libertarian now. The real question though is why you chose this doofus president to be the one that you completely compromised your principles for, my guess is said principles never actually existed to begin with.

The legality should finish making it's way through the courts just in time for Trump's democratic successor to enter office and if Trump wins, they will use it to declare everything and everything a national emergency.

Thanks Donnie! Hope that vanity wall was worth it.

Anybody taking bets on what the first (of many) liberal national emergency is going to be?

Because it's a spending bill to run the government?

What do you think of the term "precedent". What thoughts come to your head when you hear that term?

Hmmm I would say the Dems have set several precedents throughout this presidency.

No, I want you to be specific. What do you think of a president using a national emergency to fulfil a campaign promise?

None of this whataboutism crap that has no nuance and doesn't even reference anything. Just tell me what you think of a president using the power of national emergency for a campaign promise .

When he has a hostile party that won’t vote for something that the majority of Americans think we need and that they were actually for in the past then yeah he has to secure our borders.

Susan Collins: This is outrageous and I will explore all options.

    Narrator: she took no action

Why are you bringing up Republicans from the Obama-era?

So you would be fine if majority of Americans believe climate change is a national emergency or that lack of healthcare access is a national emergency and thus the president bypasses Congress for that funding?

Because a majority (don't even know if a majority support a "border wall", really depends on the phrasing of a poll) support a policy, doesn't mean that the president has some ordained right to bypass Congress for funding. This ain't a direct democracy.

This is as dumb as the idea to change voting for SC nominees to a simple majority.

You know as well as I do that the Dems are just sticking it to Trump for the sake of sticking it to him. Why are they against a barrier all of a sudden?

Even if true, this is a bad precedent.

I agree it does and he knows he will catch nine kinds of hell for doing it but it could have all been avoided.

Somebody want to explain what taking down already built walls achieves? Stop telling people you dont believe in open borders.

It could have all been avoided if he got what he wanted to get done with a hold on both chambers of Congress for 2 years instead of trying to fulfill a campaign promise with a threat of a government shutdown.
