all of that may be true but then you have to make a case that building a wall would stop all of that.

    both sides have arguments.

Connies are slippery slopers (gun control, anything "Obama").

Whose to say when the "emergency" is over? Walls around cities?

Not necessarily that the wall would stop "all of that" just that there "Is an emergency" due to the facts I listed in the above post.

You already know I'm against the sea to shining sea mess …. I'm more or less playing devils advocate on this in saying that Trump has cause to file that emergency.

The Dems argument here is that "There is no emergency."

Once its established (If) that there is an emergency they take steps to remedy that situation. Those "strategically located barriers" (wall) are only a part of that - the other is increased border patrol numbers , immigration judges as well as more technology at both points of entry and along the boundary in general.

I really don't know what the hell is going to happen … Trump could be indicted and impeached next week for all we know and this whole mess goes away.

Not that Rand never caves to party pressure, but he is definitely one of few in office that can put his principles above party affiliation. IMO, the only true conservative in the US Senate.

Per 538, Rand is still more aligned with Trump than a typical Democrat, but less aligned than you'd think, given his constituency: https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/congress-trump-score/rand-paul/. He has the second-lowest "Trump Score" of all Senate Republicans, and the lowest "Trump Plus-Minus."

During Bush, the avg was 81,588 per month. During Clinton in 2000, it was 136,667 per month.

I'm sure there are solutions that have a chance of working that would have support from both sides if politic isn't so involved. A simplistic idealistic wall isn't one of them.

That’s a weird way to measure crossings....

The highest February total in 12 years.... what about other months?

    Per the article:

So the highest total in two years but significantly lower than the all time highs of early 2000s.

    Fun with statistics!

    Interesting.
    _______

OFO inadmissibility metrics include: individuals encountered at ports of entry who are seeking lawful admission into the United States but are determined to be inadmissible, individuals presenting themselves to seek humanitarian protection under our laws, and individuals who withdraw an application for admission and return to their countries of origin within a short timeframe.
