it does if this is your reasoning why 'You can ban and expel every brown person and you would not end random mass shootings.' You just said this policy wont stop all mass shootings therefore don't enact it. That's true of ever immigration policy.

Trump is acting on the exact same intelligence. that's why its the same countries.

Obama didn't just ban visas from Syria. He banned it from all 7 countries Trump did.

SO you can ban immigration from a country for national security reasons only if a declaration of war has been made? Otherwise its xenophobia? what type of batshit logic is that.

What part of my statements above are you trying to answer or disprove?

I hope and think anti is more the current mood than hatred. But yea. Largely depends on this WH. I'm doubtful there will be AM radio and fox news versions for liberal to gravitate to.

    My logic is Liberty.

AM radio: There was. It was called Air America. Nobody listened.

TV: there is. its called MSNBC and CNN. nobody watches.

Jesus Christ there is so many things wrong with this post. 1) when have we ever denied someone for being sick or poor? we deny them for where there from. just as obama did just as we have always done.
    2) where on the statue of liberty does it say , 'all this applies unless we are at war.'

who made that argument? Trump didn't even make that argument

I have been trying to discern why you liberals feel banning immigration from these 7 countries = Muslim ban, but banning visas from these 7 countries =/= Muslim visa ban. Why does banning immigration from these 7 countries equate to hate and xenophobia while banning visas from these 7 countries equate to sound foreign policy based off intelligence. These events literally took place 14 months apart. Haven't gotten an answer yet.

There was an attempt for Democratic and Liberal media in the 2000s and it failed spectacularly. Mostly because we are younger and have much different buying habits. Our AM radio appears to be Reddit.

If Trump had announced a 180 day moratorium on visa processing until he could "improve" the process then we wouldn't be discussing this. Instead, he tries blanket ban everyone (except religious persecution). Walks like a duck and talks like a duck. Must be fake news.

And as an aside, fake news is meant to reflect news, not opinion, that is deliberately false for the purpose of deceiving the reader and getting their precious clicks for ad dollars. For example: "Local ABC Reporter Announces: HILLARY CLINTON IS DEAD!" (http://www.thepoliticalinsider.com/local-abc-reporter-announces-hillary-clinton-dead/). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fake_news_websites.

assuming that it's the opposite views and version of the other side... this support the point that there is not one that liberals would gravitate to.

Was Obama's action like Trumps? No. Instead, his policy imposed new security checks, which slowed admission but did not eliminate admission. And was based on evidence of a specific terrorist effort. And, Obama's action stopped processing new applications from Iraq for refugee status or Special Immigrant Visas. So it didn't hurt people that had already sld homes or made other arrangements to come to the U.S., and it didn't stop people at the airport. Refugees continued to come into the country, just at a slower pace and in smaller numbers. And last, his didn't make exceptions based on religion.

I meant Miller. What kind of sixteen year-old has guest appearances on conservative talk shows?

Yes, a bitter dork. However, he helped Dave Brat unseat Eric Cantor. So, a bitter dork, yet very successful bitter dork.

That being said, two of these countries are state sponsors of terrorism, three are embroiled in civil war, and two are undergoing or have recently undergone armed-Islamist insurgency. Honestly, I don't think Somalia has improved much since the early 1990's. Maybe more people have cellphones than they did 20 years ago, but a lot of these countries make the worst parts of America look like they are filled with Nobel laureates.

The Terrorist Travel Prevention Act was not an 180 day moratorium. Trumps is temporary so far (he could of made it indefinite like Obama).

Trump (and i) said they are similar. Are you really gonna try to claim that banning visas from individuals who have visited the exact same 7 counties has no similarities?

You mean the legislation enacted more vetting?

SO was Obama's 'DHS remains concerned about the risks posed by the situation in Syria and Iraq, where instability has attracted thousands of foreign fighters, including many from VWP countries. Such individuals could travel to the United States for operational purposes on their own or at the behest of violent extremist groups.'

hey, you found another similarity between the executive orders. good job.

What you quoted is a reference to the Terrorist Travel Prevention Act. It had nothing to do with refugees. You are thinking of the 6 month Iraq refugee ban. I think you might be trying to copy and paste from your articles.

I am referring specifically to Trump's policy. Obama, like Bush before him, are no longer president.

Part of the reason Somali refugees are coming to the US is that apparently Kenya wants them out, even planning to close their encampment.

These refugees are already in Kenya. Can they not resettle in Kenya (which is not overrun by armed Islamist militants)?

In your opinion, why did Trump make the order temporary? His stated reason for the order was to review the vetting process, do you think otherwise?

In my opinion Trump did this because he was advised it would be legal and considered more valid. I truly believe the only belief Trump has is the importance of his self. Everything else is fully shaped by the people he surrounded himself with.

how so? what law would be broken by making it indefinite (like Obama's legal ban on visas)?

For Obama, are you talking about the Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act? That act restricted access to the Visa Waiver Program not outright banned visas for people from these 7 nations. Congress thought Obama was being too weak on even these restrictions.

"Executive Order 13769. The order suspends the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) for 120 days, after which the program will be conditionally resumed for individual countries. The executive order also suspends entry, regardless of valid non-diplomatic visa, by alien nationals of Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen for 90 days, after which an updated list of prohibited countries will be determined. Further, the order suspends entry of refugees from Syria indefinitely. "
As written, these nationals will remain banned after the initial period unless the ban is revoked or they can demonstrate religious-based persecution, provided that the religion of the individual is a minority religion in the individual’s country of nationality. So Christian minorities get a pass while the Muslim majority remains stuck on the outside hoping for a better or even safer life. From my experience, people are less afraid of Ethiopians as much as they are Somalis and a big reason stems from shared religion vs different religion. 3/4 of the United States considers itself 'Christian' and only 1% are Muslim. Easier to fear the Somali are going to institute shariah law than it is for Ethiopians are going to implement orthodox law.
Iran was selected as a country purely for political reasons as everyday people could not really tell an Iranian from a Greek and people do not fear Iranians coming here to set up a Shia state. Maybe a mercedes benz with gold necklaces gang, but not trying to bring Ayatollah control over the midwest.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/27/us/politics/refugee-muslim-executive-order-trump.html
This is the full order. A lot of it's well-meaning, but when taken as a whole with what Trump campaigned on and it's initial implantation, it ends up being a black-eye for lady liberty.

This is opinion, and I do not practice law nor claim to be an expert at this.
I suppose if the EO were written as being permanent rather than conditional, and it was also challenged and shown to be unconstitutional then that would tie the hands of the administration from putting the policy into action at all after. Whereas by inserting 'temporary' they could argue it is just to 'make sure everything is figured out' and additional temporary versions could be issued as necessary. Similarly it can be retracted if politically necessary (as it appears it will be), and the WH saves "face". Remember Trump did not, and probably could not, write this.

Also, I am starting to suspect Trump has bad vision from age. So he may not even be able to read it.
