But they clearly do. You might not want to call it Fascism... but it's fascism. I get that it's not politically advantageous to acknowledge it under that terminology but it is what it is. Just like Medicare for All is a socialized health care plan, many of Trump's tactics that his supporters adore are very clearly on its face fascistic.

If I didn't use the word Fascist though and just said.... "Hard Line Policing" or something that, and asked the same question I'm willing to bet you would say that you support that because the left is SOOOO Bad that its necessary. You would say that immigration is SOOOO Bad that it requires kids in cages. You would say that things are SOOOO Bad with the Deep State that it requires the leader using powers to reward cover ups from loyalists that get put in jail with pardoning, and requires punishing political enemies with the use of the political wielding of a partisan attorney general.

And most important you'd probably say that the media on the left is SOOOO Bad that it is necessary for the leader and his propaganda networks to have a strategy of Lying over and over and over again in order to make the lies normalized as a strategy.

Dude.... this is Fascism. You might not want to call it that, but it is what it is.

Back to the question though.... you and others have yet to say why being Anti Fascism is a bad thing. Antifa isn't a secret society organization.... it's an ideology that on its face is saying "We are Against Fascism".... Make your case for everyone to hear. Why is one good, and why is one bad.... because the only thing I'll get out of you is why the Left is SOOOOO Bad that its required rather than just telling me why what Trump is doing is good. If Trump is this wonderful that you'd go to this level to defend him, make a case that is coherent, and has some guts to stand up for what you believe in rather than just b****ing and whining about how bad the Left is.

I love this over the top style of messaging that is sooooo classic Republican. A Democrat would NEVER put out something like this which is why it's amazing what happens when Republicans message against Republicans.

 

I saw on FB the other day someone posting what was claimed to be, a Holocaust survivor decrying what he saw in Seattle and saying that Antifa reminded him of Brown shirts. Accepting that that is a real Holocaust survivor I would like to ask him if he's worried about Antifa and that reminds him of what happened in Germany in the early 1930's what does he think then of Federal authorities randomly taking people in custody with no charge and not even identifying themselves? What does he think about a political leader demanding personal loyalty of law enforcement and the military? What does he think about a political leader constantly attack the legislature and seeking ways to sidestep and subvert it? What does he think of a political leader seeking to subvert the justice system?

 

I would seriously question that this person was a holocaust survivor given that there are so few left, and those that are still around are at the very least work closely with groups like the Holocaust Historical Society. When one of these cherished individuals speak at events or through the society, it's exactly the opposite of what you read from a facebook poster like that.

I guess it is possible that the poster is connected to the Holocaust through the Soviet Union. Maybe the originator of that post or meme had a father or grandfather liberate a camp or something.... so might not be a total fabrication on that point.

But yes... most of this garbage on facebook pushing propaganda designed to create division and push the agenda for more autocratic powers to the state come from either Russia, China, or the far Right here working in partnership for a destabilizing affect.

My grandparents are notorious too for putting memes like this on Facebook, and within seconds I can track them back to Russian trolls who created them via the URL and re-googling it to see if it's picked up on a tracking site. It's either direct from Russia, or delivered through a medium like 4Chan or a Facebook group that shares them.

 

My guess is that this was a fake FB post (or the original one was)...probably put out there by some kind of right-wing group (or foreign actor) meant to sew discord. If a Holocaust survivor actually said that, it would be covered by multiple news outlets...when I tried searching for it, I could find nothing on it.

As far as the Antifa=Brownshirts thing, that's an extreme right-wing talking point and has been for awhile. Breitbart consistently calls Antifa the "Democrat Brownshirts" and many of their writers do as well...in my search, I also turned up a number of extreme right-wing sites and authors that mentioned the same thing. In any case, there is no mention of a Holocaust survivor comparing ANTIFA to the BrownShirts.

In any case, ANTIFA isn't anywhere near as violent as the BrownShirts. In fact, with the rise of ANTIFA, the white supremacists that were going into BLM marches and trying to cause trouble would correlate more with the BrownShirts. Hell, the unmarked Feds would also tend to correlate more with the BrownShirts.

It is straight from the Nazi playbook. In the early years the Nazis claimed to be a workers party and that the so-called socialists were destroying property and causing riots (it was actually Nazis behind the damage), and they would go around attacking socialist groups to stop violence.

To respond to you, Dobro and Sweet Lou. I highly doubt it's a real Holocaust survivor. Given that it was forwarded from a site with a name like "Angry Patriots 2020" and by someone who 90% of what he posts is just forwarding stuff like that I doubt anyone will be able to find anything that actually backs up that is a real Holocaust survivor or at least an actual quote from a Holocaust survivor.

I was just pointing out that if I could speak to a Holocaust survivor who was concerned about Antifa whether he should be concerned about what Trump is doing.
