He wants all the money coming to him. LOL

WASHINGTON — Attorneys for former President Donald Trump sent cease-and-desist letters Friday to three Republican organizations asking them to stop using the former president's name and likeness in fundraising appeals and merchandise, a Trump adviser said Saturday.

The letters were sent to the Republican National Committee, the National Republican Congressional Committee and the National Republican Senate Committee — arms of the party tasked with raising money and shaping messaging, among other things, for the midterm elections and beyond.

The committees did not immediately respond to NBC News' request for comment. Politico was first to report the news.

The Republican National Committee is denying a cease-and-desist demand from Donald Trump’s attorneys, who asked the party organization to stop using the former president’s name and likeness in fundraising appeals.

In a letter sent Monday afternoon to Trump attorney Alex Cannon, RNC chief counsel Justin Riemer asserted that the committee “has every right to refer to public figures as it engages in core, First Amendment-protected political speech, and it will continue to do so in pursuit of these common goals.”

March 5 request that the RNC “immediately cease and desist the unauthorized use of President Donald J. Trump’s name, image, and/or likeness in all fundraising, persuasion, and/or issue speech.”

Trump attorneys sent letters to a cadre of GOP committees asking them to stop using Trump in fundraising appeals, including the National Republican Senatorial Committee and the National Republican Congressional Committee. Other groups loosely affiliated with the party have also received notices.

An NRCC spokesperson declined to comment on how the organization planned to respond to the cease-and-desist letters. An NRSC spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment.

The dust-up represents a rare break between the Trump team and the RNC, which during the 2020 campaign worked together through a joint fundraising vehicle to raise over $366 million. The two sides merged their political and digital operations together into a single operation in the run-up to last year's election, and their fundraising activities were closely aligned. Trump and McDaniel speak frequently, and just after the election, he endorsed her to serve a third term as party chair — a nod that paved the way for her reelection.

    Dis gonna be good.

    This is huge.

Once the spigot gets cut off from everybody not named Trump the knives will come out and the real civil war will begin.

I don't know how I missed this, of course Trump is gonna be greedy and want to run everything and of course the leaches thought they could continue to get rich of Trump.

This will lat bear that this was all a money grab.

Now we know why Mitch and Lyndsey flip flopped, Trump is gonna control the purse strings.

They gonna have to take down Trump now.

Yes how dare someone decide they want to decide how to use their image and likeness!
This is an affront to personal freedom!

Seriously though I’m not quite up on what the rules are for use of a public figure’s image for political fundraising. My understanding is that political speech is given a lot more leeway and that elected officials as public officials their image can be used. Otherwise I’m not sure how the Republicans could send out fundraising ads with Pelosi on them and Democrats McConnell.

What I can see not being allowed is if business were to say do “Trump Burgers” without his approval.

Why would you want your political opponents to use your name without permission?

This has the potential to reach the Maddow show’s Trump tax returns bombshell level.

Nah. You are mistaken. The NYT leak was far more deviststing and comprehensive. It showed that Trump is loosing money on most of his assets besides the few properties he was grifting with using his presidential.coult such as Maro-Lago. Also the other leak.from NYT that showed that Trump is the very opposite of a "self made" man where it showed he nutted out of a 413 million dollar penis and under valued to the feds how much he inherited which is illegal.

The RNC is his political opponent?

I have no problem with him sending not wanting them to use his likeness, it's just laying bare the fact that he does not give a **** about the party and its all just a grift.

Civil war within the GOP party is the best thing a Democrat voter can ask for.

I hope Trump creates his own party.

So it seems that he just wanted this retreat to be at Mara Largo, that's really small stakes.

I think (and hope) this is just a preview of things to come, he is saying that his PAC is the one to donate to so that they can get rid of the RHINOS.

This will come to a head leading up to the 2022 election because somebody is not gonna get the money they expected.
