This is really a pointless debate... since you seem determined to ignore facts. trump benefited financially from them staying there, and if they stay their under the expectation of gaining favor ("what you call "kissing his a$$") even if he didn't "ask them") then that is an ethical if not legal problem. And whether its a legal requirement or not, he committed to doing so. So yes, its important. And btw, trump has not released his 2017 tax return... and emoluments would be in that return.
The ethics Act is about financial disclosures not tax returns Regardless of why nixon, that was still a campaign ploy. It's just a ploy that backfired
Trump is not responsible for them staying there He isn't going to show favoritism on government policy because someone stayed at his hotel Maybe some Iranian leaders should go hang at that bar Edit: and again I know Trump didn't spend millions to be President so diplomats will stay at his hotel. Hotel stays aren't influencing a billionaire It's about as stupid as saying he did it to save 15 percent on car insurance
You have two mistakes in this reply. Of course, you only made two points, so you were two for two. 100% wrong. First, I didn't say the Ethics Act was about tax returns. Instead, I said it required releasing a financial statement and I said trump released one (and said it was 92 pages long). I also said the tax return he avoided releasing provides more detailed information about the sources and types of income. And the tax return includes the actual taxes paid. And the loopholes used to avoid paying taxes (it also includes info on donations... though not as important to me). Second, it was not a campaign ploy by Nixon. He released his return in December 1973. The election was in November 1972. Again, if you had any knowledge, or any interest in knowing anything, you would have looked that up before further embarrassing yourself. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/20...eleased-tax-returns-while-under-audit-n573036
Bro just because you said that doesn't make me wrong. I'm still right. Don't understand why you keep talking about Nixon. It was his choice regardless. Don't know why you keep referring it. IT was still his choice and it revealed nothing
Bro just because you said that doesn't make me wrong. I'm still right. Don't understand why you keep talking about Nixon. It was his choice regardless. Don't know why you keep referring it. IT was still his choice and it revealed nothing Trump doesn't care that you someone who will never vote for him wants to know who pays him
@NewRoxFan You don't need to know anything. But on the subject, just like with the emoluments, there are plenty people watching him. He didn't release his returns You know diplomats are staying at his properties That information wouldnt be in a return On the childish assholish responses made a mistake hitting the post response Trump doesn't care about your opinion on his taxes, you're never voting for him
LOL... not telling you not to post, but for your own sake you might want to try to read a few books on history and open your news sources beyond just right wing sources before posting here. It might make your posts more coherent and people won't make a sport out of responding to your posts. Or not... its your choice.
Actually, since nixon didn't do it for campaign purposes I was technically right about ford Thanks for playing Edit: if nixon did it because he was in trouble. That's another topic
Nothing left to say? Releasing tax returns is a media issue All they ever end up focusing on is charity cause candidates come from government and their salary is known. The President isn't the only government employee with influence but this isn't a tradition in other positions And lastly everything Trump does is scrutinized. You don't need his tax returns
