Could he seriously be any more of an ass? Any good he did with his 2nd trip (the first one was useless and pointless...only made as a stopover on his way to campaign in Missouri), it goes backwards again with idiocy like this. Many reporters out in the water helping people get saved and bringing the news we needed during a terrible time.
Obviously and as usual, he hasn't a clue and more importantly, he doesn't care to understand anything. He's horrible.
Trump's continuing attack on the news media and the first amendment is growing opposition... Conservative columnist: Founding Fathers had Trump in mind when they included impeachment clause http://thehill.com/homenews/media/3...ho-the-founding-fathers-had-in-mind-when-they
The saddest/scariest thing about his is that it isn't a bigger deal. Seems like everyone is pretty ho-hum, "just Trump being Trump". This is literally the kind of stuff you hear from tinpot leaders in banana republics, but this is the POTUS.
As soon as House Republicans want to get off their asses and start proceedings. We're ready to go. "Just Trump being Trump" means I was already asking for impeachment a long time ago.
It's a new take on gish gallop. He just overloads us everyday with so much absurdity to the point where it's become normalized and blown off as Trump being Trump as you said. The problem this also creates is that pointing out the constant absurdity is labeled by his supporters as being hysterical and obsessed with everything Trump does. So then the question becomes do you still criticize all the ridiculous things he does (because behavior like this should never be normal from a president) or do you focus on the most egregious things to try to avoid the appearance of being obsessed? I think this is a key question right now facing a lot of the media that covers him. Either way, it kind of feels like he's already won in a sense since he's clearly being held to a lower standard and allowed to play by a completely different set of rules than pretty much anyone else.
Wow... conservative Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol is on fire via twitter... well worth a look and follow... And next week's editorial: http://www.weeklystandard.com/editorial-the-surrender/article/2010233
hahahaha! "Great job by Michael Caputo." If Caputo has any sense (debatable) he will issue a "get my name out your mouth" ASAP. Oh, gee whiz, that Sir Anthony sure can act.
Also Murdoch (FoxNews owner) was reported yesterday to be trying to purchase CNN. On AF1 earlier POTUS made a statement essentially in support of his admin butting into the merger saying that he believes the merger consolidated too much media and thinks we need more news outlets. Which is astounding because the intent now can be used in court. With a million other statements with Trump b****ing about CNN. The ATT Time Warner merger... I don’t love it because it is going to further decrease service quality as these mergers always do, and will have a negative benefit to consumers also on price. But CNN has very little to do with the massive amounts of conflicts that come with mergers. Singling them out is such an obvious attempt by the White House to have Murdoch or Sinclair take over CNN and have 2/3 of mainstream media now be state run TV.
