There was a pretty big E.coli outbreak recently. 90 people got sick from eating contaminated lettuce and one died.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2025/05/26/food-safety-fda-ecoli-contamination/

That's a harbinger, not a one-off. For the past 80+ years, we've done an amazing making a risky, dangerous world safer. So much so that for many days, we didn't even think about it. Much of that incremental work was done because people advocated for the changes. Regulations matter to the functioning of a large and complex society. Now, thanks to DOGE, this administration, and the industries that influence them, it's all being undone. More people will get sick and more will get cancer and more will die before their time. Congrats everyone.

Anything grown in dirt is ripe for bacterial contamination. This is not a new thing. What is new is the federal government dismantling the safeguards to help prevent it.

What doesn't kill you make you stronger, or in the worst case, we all will die eventually, so what is the difference.

It actually is kind of true, in some ways.

    Smallpox, etc...?

Some smallpox survivors are blind and/or suffer from acute arthritis. If encephalitis came along with your smallpox, you can have lasting effects. Then there's all the pockmarks and scarring. So, maybe the case for some I guess, but far from a universal truth.

It's so disturbing to read that nutjob's Memorial day post. Unless that creep is reading a scripted speech, or putting up his fake patriotism for the cameras his true crazy psycho mental state always pops up. He can't even reign it in posting a Memorial day message. What a pathetic whining loser to have as President of this country.
