The Qualifications Clause set forth in Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 requires the President to be a natural-bornc itizen, at least thirty-five years of age, and a resident of the United States for at least fourteen years.
The SCOTUS current approach to the Constitution is to ignore the parts that work against their political agenda. Thus, Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 mentions no mechanism for enforcement so it is more of a guideline than say a requirement.
I highly doubt Musk wants to be president when through his wealth and influence he can manipulate things. That he already is going to be given a high level governmental position they won’t be subject to Congressional appointment or oversight just shows he doesn’t need to be elected to wield power.
Musk was naturalized as an American citizen in 2002. Don't go nativist on me -- he is as much a citizen as we are, even if he has a funny accent. Musk doesn't qualify to be president, but Rocket River wasn't talking about that.
Speaking of voters getting what they asked for: I totally am in support of Democrats in the House NOT bailing out the Republicans on the budget that is coming up in the next few weeks. They have complete control of government. There is no reason for them to bail them out when they have all the power to keep their nutty crazy idiots in the House in line when they want to try and do something like defund the CIA or demand a release of the Area 51 files or whatever crazy sh$t they come up with. What should Democrats demand in order to sign onto a budget to get their votes???... hmmm... -no cuts to SS or Medicare -Expansion of Medicaid -No cuts to VA -Fund planned parenthood for 4 years -Expand funding for ACA -Funding for Ukraine Aid -Contingencies for Israel aid What else???... DC Statehood lol?? I mean why not? The Republicans have a full majority. Fck them. Make them get their people in line to pass a bill.
Yeah I mean the Constitution is in the end just a goodwill document, and this Supreme Court has shown no ability to disregard whatever they want even as big as they want. If Elon Musk wanted to run the country of the United States.... he probably could if he isn't already. All he needs is a title, and legitimacy in the situation room with the people that report up the chain of command. One work around would be if Trump or a future president created the Position of "Prime Minister"... or I dunno... "Hand of the President/King" or "Chief Executive US Officer". Whatever you want to call it. Power lies where people think it lies in the end. If Elon Musk wants to run the US, and he has just one President who gives him the authority he wants (big IF with a Narcissist like Trump) I have no doubt that he could essentially run the country. The issue though with Elon and Trump is I think most see that relationship eventually breaking down because Trump probably can't stand the Elon, and like any narcissist wont give up power.
Honestly I think if something were to happen to Trump The Republicans might try to find a way to "workaround" JD Vance and put someone else in as president Rocket River
I tried to warn people. The man is the ****ing devil... Incoming Trump administration plans to deport some migrants to countries other than their own
Seriously, I thought the job of Congress was to work for the American People, these clowns kneel to their wanna be dictator. Talk about weak minds, I have never seen a party just blindly follow a convicted sex offender who is trying to put like-minded folks into offices to help him grift..............but hey, thats who the people voted for, better hold tight because the next few years are going to WILD.
The admission from the Majorie and that guy Troy Nehls is frightening They are the ultimate followers who have no idea how democracy works How is this even a thing? Rocket River
leopards will be feasting the next 4 years, and I’m here for it I hope Trump is able to implement everything he’s promised
1. Musk is not eligible to be president. There is no gray in the topic. 2. Musk doesn't want to be president. 3. Musk wouldn't get elected even if he was eligible. 4. He has more than enough power as is. He talks to any world leader he wants, freely. He is deciding many of Trump's appointments. He is the man behind the man. Tl;dr: Musk is already way beyond your fear
That's disgusting. Imagine being so weak that you resort to being a butt kisser to some creepy sleazebag conman and rapist in a suit to keep your job. You are always right Sir. Your wish is my command Sir, What's next? We've already seen some of the bootlickers pleading the 5th over and over again for him, fighting for his attention, and dressing like him. Will they be bowing down and kissing his feet next as a greeting?
I don’t think his ego means he needs the title. He already has the power without having to get a single vote or be subject to Congressional oversight. He’s also not shy about letting people including in the incoming administration know it.
