Fox News' Shannon Bream noted that Amy Coney Barrett spent a lot of time with White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows Thursday. Will she need to quarantine too or will they just barrel on with this nomination?

 

Is she not an anti-vaxxer? Seems the type. Kids? I guess her kids might die if she has any.

 

My guess is they will move they will slow this down and have the confirmation vote after the election. That's been my feeling all along though is that they wouldn't hold the vote until after the election to spare Republican Senators in tough reelection campaigns from having to make a potentially very unpopular vote.

 

Note, re: the United States Constitution, 51 votes (in person) are required for approval.

 

They will not slow it down under any circumstances. This is McConnell's legacy. He'll put everyone at risk if it means getting it done.

The real issue is that Amy Barrett failed to disclose her endorsement of a pro-life ad. Dems could conceivably impeach her

 

Whether it's before the election or in the lame duck period it won't make a difference to McConnell's legacy. Both Trump and McConnell have brought up the possibility of the vote after the election.

 

He's already come out and said he doesn't anticipate any slow down

 

If she can't actually have hearings in the next few weeks because of COVID-19 he might not have a choice.

 

If Trump is positive and experiencing symptoms, how do we know if he is in the right frame of mind to make this kind of decision? While not completely out of character, he did not seem like a sane person at the debate.

 

She tested negative today, but if I'm the Dems, I refuse to show up until she's gone through a quarantine period.

 

That would be a good move and if Schumer really was feeling his cojones could press that the Senate shouldn't meet at all until after a two week quarantine given how much contact Hope Hicks had with GOP Senators.

 

She has already had COVID so I think she will not be afraid of the risk of re-exposure

 

Watching the video of the nomination ceremony and they are showing Senator Mike Lee hugging several people and now he has it.

This might not be a matter of Barrett has it or is worried about catching it but how many of the Senators might get it.
