He didn't suffer that big of a defeat. In terms of margin it is the bottom third of all election. In terms on overall votes its not even a top 10 defeat despite the number of ballots cast. For example Obama got 9.5 mil more votes than McCain, and won by 7%.

I'm leaning more and more that Trump and his family should be prosecuted. A prosecution like that will consume the country but they are continuing to undermine the trust and confidence of the country while profiting from that. There should be legal consequences to the damage that is being done.

But the cases need to be airtight, can't afford a loss or even hung jury to give them credibility. It will probably start with the supporting cast and get them to roll.

I agree they need to do this right. Any prosecutions need to be the opposite of the farces that Trump's attorneys have been doing. There should be a clear contrast between the seriousness of holding a former President and his familial legally responsible for the damage they are doing to the country and the insanity that they are clinging to power.
