"While I disagreed with Trump’s claims..." turley continues to push the trump lie that this is simply over disagreeing with the election results.
Tuesday, 26 Sept 2023 Judge rules Trump defrauded banks, insurers as he built his real estate empire Judge Arthur Engoron, ruling in a civil lawsuit brought by New York’s attorney general, found that the former president and his company deceived banks, insurers and others by massively overvaluing his assets and exaggerating his net worth on paperwork used in making deals and securing financing. Engoron ordered that some of Trump’s business licenses be rescinded as punishment, making it difficult or impossible for them to do business in New York, and said he would continue to havean independent monitor oversee the Trump Organization’s operations. The decision, days before the start of a non-jury trial in Attorney General Letitia James’ lawsuit, is the strongest repudiation yet of Trump’s carefully coiffed image as a wealthy and shrewd real estate mogul turned political powerhouse. Engoron’s ruling, in a phase of the case known as summary judgment, resolves the key claim in James’ lawsuit, but six others remain. The Trump Organization was convicted of tax fraud, in 2022 ,in an unrelated criminal case for helping executives dodge taxes on extravagant perks such as Manhattan apartments and luxury cars. The company was fined $1.6 million. One of the executives, Trump’s longtime finance chief Allen Weisselberg, pleaded guilty and served five months in jail. He is a defendant in James’ lawsuit and gave sworn deposition testimony for the case in May. James’ lawsuit does not carry the potential of prison time, but could complicate his ability to transact real estate deals. It could also stain his legacy as a developer.
@Nook thinks all democrats are useless cuz gas prices are high but somehow saudi Arabia which is all in on trump getting re elected gets no mention. Typical normie American mindset
I think one thing that isn't being talked about is the fact that the judge didn't even think Trump's claim were worthy of being heard by a jury. Guilty of Fraud.
LOL... he pulled the "if they can do this to me, they can do this to you..." as if all Americans commit wholesale fraud...
New York Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron also ordered the cancellation of Trump business certificates and imposed sanctions on attorneys representing him, two of his adult children, two other company executives and the business for repeating arguments that failed multiple times previously and were called “borderline frivolous.” The decision orders the parties to suggest candidates for receivers who will oversee the dissolution of the various entities that make up the Trump Organization’s corporate structure — a ruling that appears to mean the collapse of its operations in New York. that includes Trump Tower
where did jr get the 18 mil figure from? i've only seen 75 mil cited in articles. the valuation of 75 mil does seem to be on the low side... maybe not inflated by 10x but by double.
