Slightly off topic - just wanted to thank you for over the last week or so dropping the pretense that you don't support Trump. It beggared belief from the start and was just getting more awkward.
Actually Rooting against the economy is gonna kill Democrats. They are counting chickens too early this mid term These other guys are the emotional ones about the economy doing well. I don't give a damn who is president This isnt GWB's fake economy heading for collapse built on sub prime real estate. This is continuation of Obama's recovery and it really kills the argument Trump is unfit because at least he hasn't screwed it up
The problem with making statements about the economy and the current president is that most presidential/congressional actions don’t affect the present or the near future. And, while Trump/Republicans haven’t “screwed” it up, and have in fact boosted the economy, it continues to be at the expense of future economic prosperity. So, if you’re 65 and older, you’re in good shape...anyone younger isn’t. Why? At some point that Social Security Bill is going to come due. Most experts believe that will occur in the next 20 years when the last of the baby boomers retire, at which point, both taxes will have to be raised and spending will have to be curtailed. Responsible fiscal managers would have foreseen this coming and have started to reduce reliance on funding the government with the Social Security tax and investing that money to build a surplus. They also need to reduce the over-reliance on government spending that continues to tilt the scales Thats the issue with the current actions taken by this government; they have kicked the can down the road...again. That’s something that’s been done by Republicans/Democrats since the Great Depression and probably will continue for the next twenty years no matter who is in power. Politicians don’t win elections by raising taxes and cutting spending...which would be why term limits might be a solution. Instead of working towards getting re-elected, politicians can actually focus on governing. But, hey, it’s the generations after the Baby Boomers that are at fault as we continue to cede our future to the Baby Boomers by not getting out and voting. Sure, we like to think that generation is acting in good faith, but that’s just a pipe dream...they have and continue to think only of themselves. Greed is good, right?
Didn't get a chance to read all of the thread but is it about the dotard formula for creating a crisis and then claiming he solved it? Or is it how he makes a minnor change and re-brands someone else's accomplishment as his own?
