I watched McCarthy and hypocrisy shouldn’t surprise me anymore but the brazenness of it sometimes still does. In his speech he decries people putting their thumbs on the scales of Justice even as he threatens investigations into the DA specifically over this case. Also him trying to claim that Trump isn’t calling people to protest but to tweet? He can’t seriously believe that. He knows exactly what trump means and is capable of. He pointed that out in the floor of the House on Jan 6th.

And while that may send a thrill down the leg of some (but probably not Jack Ryan), in the end they're just two sides of the same coin. on the one hand Obama smiled and read Fareed Zakaria, while on the other he weaponized treasury and the FBI against dissenting journalists, all while being cheered on by JournoList. Trump, Obama, Biden, Hillary...they're all the same; there is no fundamental difference. none of them should ever have been elected.
“Republicans” are just confused about how the world works. One of my neighbors owns a restaurant and their food distributor had a cyber attack and was unable to deliver groceries for a few days. I grabbed them some cases off a truck, I have friends at the company, and when they came over to grab the supplies she started going off on Biden for allowing this to happen… a cyber attack on a private company.
