Picking and chossening which laws are enforced started before 45 got in office so let's not blame him for making it clear which ones he wants to be enforced.

That's what 44 was trying to get done that they did have to go 45 dislikes everything he did so he's going to make changes that don't need to be made as for him having the laws on the books enforced they should be that's why their on the books he didn't make them.

Let's not play false equivalency here. Trump's actions have far more graver precident. Allowing sherrifs to violate our Constitutional amendments with impunity is far more of a dangerous threat to us citizens than allowing young adults and children who called this place home for most of their lives to stay and try to be productive members of society by having stipulations such as striving for an education or trade and no criminal record.

from a survey of dreamers. Not kids. 2 % are 16-17 which is senior in high school i think. Maybe you can call those kids. Like i said, we dont give work permits to kids.

    https://cdn.americanprogress.org/co.../Wong-Et-Al-New-DACA-Survey-2017-Codebook.pdf

    How old are you? (n = 3,063)
    Average ........................................ 25.2
    Median ........................................ 25

    16 ........................................ 0.4%
    17 ........................................ 1.6%
    18 ........................................ 3.0%
    19 ........................................ 4.4%
    20 ........................................ 5.2%
    21 ........................................ 6.6%
    22 ........................................ 7.6%
    23 ........................................ 8.9%
    24 ........................................ 8.0%
    25 ........................................ 7.1%
    26 ........................................ 8.6%
    27 ........................................ 7.6%
    28 ........................................ 7.3%
    29 ........................................ 6.2%
    30 ........................................ 5.3%
    31 ........................................ 3.6%
    32 ........................................ 3.3%
    33 ........................................ 2.2%
    34 ........................................ 1.8%
    35 ........................................ 1.4%

Some Republicans hate it because it encourages illegal immigration. The fact you aren't aware of this position proves my earlier statements about you not being exposed to opposing views. Every DACA supporter needs to realize a simple premise. You can't let in everyone.

That's not really the question that is relevant, instead ask them "Are you in this country legally?"

that kind of depends. The law says no but the executive branch is not executing the law. They could answer either way really.

What I hate is all this 'children will deported' bullshit . its not true. I also find the 'children will be kicked out of the only home they will have ever known' position ridiculous as well. If they are children then the only home they have ever known has been for like 5 years.

And even if it was true that "children" were going to be deported, it's not like we don't hold children accountable for their crimes in this country in other areas, why should we turn a blind eye in this area?

Because they never committed a crime.

    It's a civil infraction.

The law should always be enforced... except when it's towards people Trump wants to pardon.

Then the law shouldn't be enforced.

Something needs to be done. Immigration I suppose needs to be easier for the U.S.

The borders somehow need to be enforced. And from that point the laws then need to be enforced.

If they are in this country illegally then they are actively violating the law with their mere presence. It's kind of like someone trespassing on your property suggesting that they haven't committed a crime.

The bullshit is what you keep spouting, dude. The average age of Dreamers when they entered the United States is 6 years old, many younger than that. I personally know one than was less than a year old when she came to this country. Her mother, who was here legally, had gone to Mexico while pregnant to visit an ill parent. The girl's younger brother was born here. So you have a parent who's a US citizen, who has a younger child who was born here, and an older child who happened to be born in Mexico simply because her Mom didn't think about the ramifications. That sort of thing can happen when a parent is gravely ill. You would have the girl tossed because you simply don't give a damn. It says a lot about you, and none of it good.

Maybe you should ponder changing your sources of information.

and DACA did not apply until they were 15- 16. not when they 6. Thats the point. Again 'children will be deported' is bullshit. its not true. DACA does not apply to kids.

That's not true, they could leave at any time and they wouldn't be "trespassing" anymore. Also, no one is talking about jailing them, just removing them. So really it's just helping them do what they should have chosen to do themselves. The real bastards here are their parents who chose to do this to their family.

DACA is indefensible legally as an executive action

we have laws that define legal entry and legal status, DACA ignores them

whether it's good policy Congress should enact is another matter (I don't think it is)

this is the problem with governing by pen and phone, what was done by decree can easily be undone (except of course, not hard to find a lefty federal judge to declare DACA irreversible, but SCOTUS would eventually shut it down)

It still doesn't make it right.

Let's say you own a small amount of land like 100 acres or so, at some point someone decides to move onto part of your land and start to raise a family there....if for whatever reason you don't catch them for 20 years, does that mean they have a right to stay on your land after they've been caught? Of course not.

Well this is really no different. Just because they've been doing the wrong thing their whole lives doesn't mean that they shouldn't be forced to change once they've been caught. We can have all the sympathy in the world for their situation, and it truly is unfortunate what their awful parents did to them, but that sympathy shouldn't prevent people from doing what needs to be done. We shouldn't be rewarding people for being really good at getting away with doing the wrong thing.
