Paxton has long been a Trump lapdog. He busted his butt trying to legally challenge Trump’s 2020 election loss in four battleground states. He also spoke at the pro-Trump rally that preceded the deadly U.S. Capitol riot in January 2021.

Bootlicking Ken Paxton is the Worst Possible Option for U.S. Attorney General

Not only has he faced criminal charges his entire time as Texas Attorney General, but last year members of his own party voted to impeach him for bribery and abuse of office.

Since his impeachment, Ken Paxton has used his power to oust Republican members of the Texas House and judges on the Court of Criminal Appeals as part of a revenge tour against those who dare to uphold the rule of law.

Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa issued the following statement:

“Democrats and Republicans alike know that Ken Paxton is self-serving, corrupt, and unfit to hold public office – let alone lead the United States Justice Department. Paxton has been a loyal soldier to Trump throughout his countless scandals and legal struggles, making this possible U.S. Attorney General appointment all the more unsurprising.

Not only that, Paxton is still under federal investigation for the same allegations that formed the basis of his impeachment, and he continues to face a whistleblower lawsuit from former deputies who said they were illegally fired for reporting Paxton to law enforcement. A separate lawsuit from the state bar seeks to penalize Paxton for his 2020 election challenge, which relied on discredited claims of election fraud.

This excerpt from the like below makes perfect sense about why he would consider that far right crooked lapdog as the US Attorney General.......

They also want to downgrade the FBI’s access to the attorney general, instead making the FBI head report to two politically installed assistant attorneys general.

Trump allies want to reduce the scope of the FBI’s investigative authority, leaving the department to focus solely on “large-scale crimes and threats to national security,” from which insurrection and sedition by conservatives are, naturally, excluded. A January report by the National Institute of Justice found far-right extremism has continued to outpace all other forms of domestic terrorism since 1990.

Paxton seems like the ideal AG choice for Trump. From his viewpoint, the appeal lies in criminality and the ability to evade consequences, both of which Paxton has demonstrated.

Perfect for Trump, yet terrible for our country and Democracy. Two guys who care more about power and money than human rights, voting rights, the environment, and the truth. Those two could care less about anything with a pulse that doesn't feed their pockets, cover their crooked butts, or join them in the spreading of propaganda, lies, and far right mentality.

If you're not terrified of Ken Paxton being the USAG then nothing can terrify you. The thought of that criminal being AG is scary as ****

It's so easy for people to just quit paying stupid prices for fast food. As long as they keep paying, those businesses will keep jacking up the prices for that crap. I can cook way cheaper, and make way better and much healthier meals at home. People complain about prices, then turn around and buy their families combo meals at McDonalds or order a couple $20 pizzas instead of spending a third of the money on a home cooked meal.

Then they pay extra for delivery and tips because they are too lazy to even go get the food. Yeah, what a waste of money. Then, they sit on their butts and watch TV and play video games instead of getting outside and doing anything that involves physical activity. It's no wonder so many kids are morbidly obese these days in our country.

What’s interesting is that even with inflation people are still paying for things like fast food and corporate profits are high.

Not all bad. At least it would get him out of Texas, something voters can't manage to do.

COVID-related supply-side and labor shocks provided a real-life experiment on consumer pricing that wouldn't have occurred in a competitive, anti-monopoly economy.

Case 1: These shocks led to widespread price increases, leaving consumers with little choice but to continue paying. Will corporations lower prices once the shocks subside? Mostly, the answer is no. Eventually, someone might aim to gain market share by starting a price war, but for now, corporations are enjoying higher profits and see no need to reduce prices.

Case 2: The shocks caused significant price hikes for used and traditionally lower-priced cars. How did consumers respond? They shifted toward even more expensive premium cars, where profit margins are highest. In turn, car manufacturers increased production of high-margin premium cars and reduced production of cheaper models. This makes complete business sense. So, when will manufacturers ramp up production of cheaper cars? So far, it’s happening very slowly as they continue to prioritize more expensive models. Eventually, when supply and labor are plentiful, someone will likely pursue market share with lower-priced cars, but it’s not happening yet.

Nature is quite effective at completely bend and alter market forces.
