Trump Considering his Lapdog and Bootlicker Paxton for Attorney General

Paxton has long been a Trump lapdog. He busted his butt and wasted millions of taxpayer dollars trying to legally challenge Trump’s 2020 election loss in four battleground states. He also spoke at the pro-Trump rally that preceded the deadly U.S. Capitol riot in January 2021.

Bootlicking Ken Paxton is the Worst Possible Option for U.S. Attorney General

Not only has he faced criminal charges his entire time as Texas Attorney General, but last year members of his own party voted to impeach him for bribery and abuse of office.

Since his impeachment, Ken Paxton has used his power to oust Republican members of the Texas House and judges on the Court of Criminal Appeals as part of a revenge tour against those who dare to uphold the rule of law.

Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa issued the following statement:

“Democrats and Republicans alike know that Ken Paxton is self-serving, corrupt, and unfit to hold public office – let alone lead the United States Justice Department. Paxton has been a loyal soldier to Trump throughout his countless scandals and legal struggles, making this possible U.S. Attorney General appointment all the more unsurprising.

Not only that, Paxton is still under federal investigation for the same allegations that formed the basis of his impeachment, and he continues to face a whistleblower lawsuit from former deputies who said they were illegally fired for reporting Paxton to law enforcement. A separate lawsuit from the state bar seeks to penalize Paxton for his 2020 election challenge, which relied on discredited claims of election fraud.
