As a life long bureaucrat, we are all better off with him not making these appointments. A well run agency can self sustain and operate on solid ground indefinitely until some Dipshit-in-Chief appointee comes in and figuratively blows the place up.
To be fair, Zinke gives the credit to "American energy" and not Trump. Which is pretty much right. Fracking, increased American production, and the rollercoaster of the price of oil got us cheap gas. Obama and Trump deserve credit only insofar as they didn't screw it up.

It's called Starving the Beast cleetus. How else is granny gonna get off her ass and get a job if we dun cut dem meddycare and social security handouts? BTW, this is textbook "Government is Bloated and Evil" conservatism where they waste billions of dollars in power, only to turn around and say it doesn't work and "needs more cuts to be smaller and simpler" when people get fed up (usually after a series of failures on their watch) and vote them out. Anyone deriding any of Trump's cabinet as being unexperienced, or too young, should really be reminded of the hijabi who was hired in to Obama's White House straight out of college and joined the National Security Council at age 24. She had no work experience and only a bachelors degree. I'm sure she really had a lot to contribute.. or maybe she was there as window dressing to satisfy Obama's islam fetish.
