So the message is that if a serviceman dies, anybody who calls the mission something other than a success (which Spicer himself has done) they own an apology?

When will Trump be apologizing to thousands of troops that lost their lives in Iraq?

I don't know how much I can really blame Trump for this one. Whether it had been vetted under Obama or not, it seems like idea was conceived and developed before Trump came on. It's not likely that Trump called Mattis up and told him to cook up a covert op that will make him look like a badass. The military came to him with a plan and he said yes. If the preparations were insufficient, it's on them for bringing the plan to the table before it was ready. Whatever appetite Trump may have for risking soldiers' lives, it's matched by the military brass who said they could do this op.

What I do wonder and worry about, is what is the strategic implication of choosing to do this operation. Obama got us into these proxy wars in Syria and Yemen. In Syria, Trump seems to want to make friends and extricate us as quickly as possible. But, running this operation seems to indicate he's not interested in pulling out of Yemen at all.

    BS.
If Obama made a bad plan, it's not Trump's fault for accepting it? You mean Trump doesn't yet know what is a good idea and what is a bad idea. . . .

Obama didn't make a plan. Someone in the military made a plan. Sure, Trump is ultimately responsible, full stop. But, I find the criticism a bit suspicious -- insufficient intelligence, lack of preparation -- as if the operation was greenlighted before it was even developed. I don't know how it all went down, but I'd like to give the military enough benefit of the doubt that they wouldn't present the option if it wasn't baked. It could be the intelligence and the preparation were adequate, but things went sideways anyhow, someone died, and now naysayers are slinging arrows. Iow, I can't even tell if the op was a good idea or a bad idea. I only know it didn't work out ideally.

And the Navy SEAL's dad refused even to meet Trump at his son's flag-draped coffin. SAD. (For Trump, not the dead guy's dad). FAKE MOURNING. People are saying the dad was paid by libtards to make Trump look bad. Why do people use a slain hero to dishonestly attack Trump? Trump is the real victim here!!!

Why does Trump hate the military so much? First, he says that the military doesn't try to win:

Trump laments that American soldiers no longer 'fight to win'

And now he blames the military (and Obama, of course) for the Navy Seal's death.

I mean how can a Trump approved mission fail, that's beyond comprehension.
