Do impeached or resigned presidents get the life time secret service treatment?

I think they do, because they know about state secrets that you do not want to fall into the wrong hands.

Being the first black president where 35% of the country thinks he is a secret Muslim terrorist, I can see why.

Assuming they haven't already done that, of course.

Mr. Trump's approval ratings are in free fall. They aren't merely bad, they are historically bad. No other newly elected President since the polling of the topic began (decades ago) can even come close. My guess is that a huge number of people who either didn't vote, voted for a 3rd party, or voted for Mr. Trump now regret doing so. Whether they would admit to helping Trump win, intentionally or not, is another question entirely. I'm amazed at how "few" people apparently voted for Mr. Trump. Fascinating.

Investors Business Daily poll shows Trump dropped to 34% approval.

Heck, even traditionally republican-friendly Rasmussen Reports shows Trump sinking in popularity.

And only 35% of Americans think the country is going in the right direction according to Rasmussen:

Here's more news about polls, with some interesting results:

President Trump's approval rating has fallen to 35%, according to a new poll released Tuesday.

The Quinnipiac University national poll found that his approval rating had dropped 2% since March 22, the last time it released its results. The percentage of total voters who did not approve was 57%.

According to the poll, Republicans were the only group that the president wasn't struggling with; they gave him an approval rating of 79% and a disapproval rating of 14%.

But among other groups, Trump didn't do as well:

    • Independents disapproved of the president's performance 57%, compared to 32% who approved
    • Democrats disapproved 91%, compared to 6%
    • Men disapproved 51%, compared to 39%
    • Women disapproved 63%, compared to 31%
    • White voters disapproved 48%, compared to 43%
    • Non-white voters disapproved 77%, compared to 16%
"President Donald Trump continues to struggle, even among his most loyal supporters," Tim Malloy, assistant director of the poll, said in a statement. "Many of them would be hard pressed to see even a sliver of a silver lining in this troubling downward spiral."

He noted that President George W. Bush hit a low 28% approval rating, but it took much of his time in office to get there.

The poll was conducted from March 30 to April 3 and surveyed 1,171 voters around the country. It has an error margin of 2.9 points.

Equally, if not more important, only 35% of Americans think the country is heading in the right direction. And only 13% approve of Congress. This after electing a new President perceived to be a change candidate aligned with the Republican majority Congress.

There's like zerofaith in government right now.

No consistency either, so it's not like voters know what they're doing either.

From a political standpoint I think Trump will gain support from the traditional conservatives (Think McCain, Graham, etc.) after the muscle flexing air strikes.

However he's testing his support from his most loyal fanbase, the White Nationalists who want nothing to do with messing with Syria and provoking Russia.

I'll expect to see a slight bump in the polls by early next week, but I expect over a week or so this weeks actions to be a mixed bag that doesn't really get him a major lift in support.

Trump's past tweets can always be counted on to come back and haunt him...

If only they did. There's a tweet in opposition to just about everything he's done as president so far. It's really quite amazing.
