Agree. I have never been against such spending, but GOP often has. Our country needs a large infrastructure overall, and such spending tends to create good jobs, too. It never was, and usually isn't. POTUS is a popularity contest. Sad, but true. The last time it seemed to be about policy was the Reagan election, with the bear commercial. But Reagan was also likable, so even then probably mostly popularity contest.
