OK I'm a sucker for all TV shows and movies that involve vampires (pun intended). I watched the show so far, and I do like it. For those of you who have read the books, are they any good and how close is the show to the book right now? I am thinking of picking them up.
I was thinking about doing the same thing Parts of the series are kind of random [Tara and the Bar owner. . . left field . . esp since i figure he was going to make a move on Sookie . . OH by the way . . .I slept with your best *and seemingly only* friend] A part of me thinks that Sookie's bro will end up being a Vampire Wanna be Interesting that the Vampire seem to be setting him up [either that or they got the same tastes in women] Rocket River
The show is very close to the book. Right now they are basically following the main plot of Book 1 with a few slight differences. Should get even better.
I really enjoy the books, but I am a sucker for anything paranormal. To me the Sookie books are a lighter version of what LK Hamilton does with Anita Blake. Less gore, less sex but just as much vampire intrigue and paranormal mysteries.
I really enjoyed tonight's episode, it did a lot towards getting my connected with this series. I'm interested in finding out more about Eric and Sam.
I have the first three episodes, but have yet to watch them. I'm looking forward to getting around to it, though.
Less sex would be an understatement I think. There are points in Anita Blake novels where I feel like I'm reading a porno. I'm sure tons of guys would watch a show based on those novels though.
I think they've shown Sam and the dog in the same scene, so I don't think he IS the dog. I do think he's somehow mentally linked to it, though.
I finally got around to watching the first 4 episodes. I think the series is just now getting good. I'm looking forward to getting all the way caught up.
Me and my roomate havent read the books yet, but have been watching, we both think he might be a changeling. That coupled with the fact that she either cant or wont read his mind could spell him not being human.
Yes, if the series continues to follow the books it should start getting much better as more characters are introduced, the mythology starts to grow, and the vampire pecking order becomes more apparent. Plus of course a couple of major reveals that should happen soon. Some of the big twists and turns may not happen until the second season though.
oh me oh my, a nice finish to a great season one. to those that have read the books, is the show still following fairly true?
