I haven't read the books, but the show, of course, switches tones from the more serious/dramatic stuff to comic relief quite often. There are usually a few Jason/Andy goofball scene every episode. It's just a bit weird that the majority of last night's episode seems to be on the comic side and felt like a funny zombie movie. It was also weird that we went from an almost full-season worth of Eric-centered plot line to Eric only appearing in one dream sequence in this one.
He's not married in the first few books... it's later in the series. I am sorry I guess that's partially a spoiler. I didn't think about it when I wrote it.
HBO announced that the finale will be on 09/13 instead of 09/06. For some reason the HBO series will not be on (or will not be new episodes) on 09/06.
Oh don't you worry now... there's PLENTY of Eric-centric plots to be had. I can't wait. It's going to be AWESOME!!!
LOL I take it you have read the books? I can't wait for next season! I so can't stand Bill... really really can't stand him! Bring on season 4 via Dead to the World and THAT Eric Plus that means we get more Pam and I love Pam... she's a hoot.
I've read through the 7th book... So don't spoil anything past that!!! I used to cheer for Bill for the first few books, but now I'm all about Eric. I love Pam in the books, but I haven't really seen enough of her to know if I like her character on the show... I adore Stephen Moyer - did you know he's British? How cute is that! - but I really am done with Bill.
I didn't think it sucked... didn't move the plot along all that much... but it was still a Sookie book so I was pleased. Wait are you talking about Dead and Gone or From Dead to Worse?
I'm with you gals, Bill is so whiny and idealistic. Eric is a Viking-Vampire with the body of a GOD and he knows exactly what he wants and exactly how to get it. "She was superb" Priceless. Eric FTW.
Okay, well I did like Dead and Gone... there's a lot of stuff about her relatives in that one (I'm being vague so there are no spoilers). It's darker than most of the rest of the books, but I didn't think it was a bad novel. Depends on what you read them for... if it's for Sookie development, she definitely has quite a lot on her plate in this one... if it's for shipping, there is a bit of that in it... if it's for the overall story arc... well it travels a long way to go a short distance.
Spoiler I found it interesting how Bill's tone was with Sookie in the truck after MaryAnn had just cleaned his clock He basically DEMANDED her wrist . . . kind of throws off the whole please and thank you thing he has been doing up til then . . . . I was wondering if that was an indication of something The convos about the books indicate i could be right Rocket River
Great episode last night. I'm very interested in seeing how they portray the Queen. I wonder if she's the Queen of La, or of all vampires. I actually like Bill. I like Eric better, but I'm rooting for Bill. Bill is limited in his powers (he's what, like 150 yrs old?) where Eric is 1000 yrs old. Obvious power difference there. It would be poetic justice if Bill did something spectacular. There's no indication why he's allowed to go to the Queen like that, so maybe they'll reveal he's a an investigator and why he's back in Bon Temps. I'm also curious about Sookie's new found power and how MaryAnne is going to be defeated.
For anyone interested in watching True Blood for free, this site has all the episodes available..... for free of course, lol. Link
Eric is awesome. Godric was awesomer. It seems like the older you get, the more awesome you are. Bill, however, is not awesome. The biggest regret I have about watching True Blood is that the show's main characters (Sookie and Bill) are both unbearable to watch for me. I'd hope they both die, but I know they never will (Bill is possible I suppose, but not likely, nor any time soon I imagine).
Keep watching, you will get more of Eric, Pam and Fangtasia, as well as more on the "shapeshifters", as the series progresses and much less of Bill.
