I think we have a stable enough core of RBs (DD, Wells, Morency) so that we don't need to spend the #1 pick on another.

I'm not going to argue. DD is decent when he is not injured. Morency showed a few good moves. Wells is the perfect 3rd option and backup FB.

    Sooooooooooooooo

I think keeping DD and trading Morency would work the best.

Williamson was a 7th pick last year, but his value sure isn't like a 7th pick now. Only 6 catches 2nd half of the year. He is expendable for the Vikes with Koren Robinson out performing him the 2nd half (who they got for nothing via Seattle/drug issues), Burleson and M. Robinson all being good. Burleson and K.Robinson are young and I assume under better contracts than TW.

At this point I'd say Santonio Holmes or Sinorce Moss would be better prospects--probably mid to late 1st rounders. Two mid to late 1st rounders equivalent for the #1 overall pick in a draft this loaded is a bad deal.

Troy W for DD and 3rd makes more sense value wise (running backs never get true value back in trades), if the Texans think Bush can carry it 25 times per game. But I wouldn't do it for the Texans, just take Bush if he is our #1 guy (right now I don't think he should be, but that is debated enough) and take some flyers for a #2 WR later in the draft, I wouldn't invest in TW for a better player plus a draft pick.

Trade Morency for who? I don't think you would get much value for Morency.

John McClain basically shot down this rumor. He said that it started a couple of weeks ago when a caller asked if the Texans would be interested in Williamson, and then it just took off from there.

Yeah, McClain basically said someone asked of the Texans would be interested in trading their 2nd round pick for TW, in which McClain said "sure" since the Texans were really high on him in last season's draft. He said he had no idea how DD got put into the mix.

Has McClain said anything about TO this off-season? I understand the baggage.. but Kubiak has to atleast THINK of the prospect of a AJ/Bush/Carr/TO/DD, assuming we pick Bush. I don't think Palmer could mess up that offense. Then again.. :p

I just don't see Kubiak wanting to add TO so early in his tenture. That could potentially be one of the best offenses in the league, but TO is too much of a risk for a coach that is just starting.

The stupid thing is they can't find one of those guys who can carry the load and never have been able to since Robert Smith left.
Onterrio was probably the best, but he ****ed that up. Bennett is too injury prone. Moore was starting a lot of games by default. then you throw in Moe Williams. I've seen plenty of mock drafts with the Vikes taking Laurence Marouney or DeAngelo Williams.

Minnesota is definetly looking to fill a need at running back. They don't think any of their existing backs can produce in the new offence.

The Vikes are going to make a move for running back somewhere
