Makes all the sense in the world. If Kobe is going to be all over the news, than it might as well be about Basketball. This won't help things when his trial approaches but come Tuesday the story now is "how kobe and shaq played together." I seriously doubt Shaq cares this much about the pre-season, when really he gives very little about the regular season.
I dont get it. Shaq's comments were right on. Kobe completely over reacted. Shaq said that Kobe: Whats wrong with that? Its the freakin truth. Even Kobe has been saying that his legs still feel week towards the end of the games. Then, Kobe responds with: Gimme a break. Shaq has a point and Kobe is a baby.
I get the feeling that the conflict stems in part from the addition of Payton and Malone (plus the failure to win the championship last year). The team now has more centers of gravity and Shaq is trying to unify everyone under his command. This would require greater deference from Kobe than he needed to give in previous seasons when there was only him and Shaq to worry about. Being unused to that, feeling like perhaps it should be Shaq deferring to him, plus being under the added stress of the rape case and all the talk about what it will do to his game and planing to opt out soon, Bryant is understandably very reluctant to change, especially if it will mean a reduction in his apparent contribution that his detractors can grab on to.
I though about that, but with Kobe being the focus of his own trial, it seems like if there were machinations behind the scene to gin up pretend controversy, it would involve Payton or Malone vs. Shaq. That would put the media eye on two players other than Kobe, and both Malone and Payton have a lot of experience in playing the media and making enough outrageous comments to keep the charade going. Since it didn't go down that way, I suspect this is a legit story.
Judging from the last two preseason games, Kobe did jack up a lot of bad shots. But I thought it was somewhat understandable since he's obviously trying to get his shooting touch back. What better time to do so than in the meaningless preseason games? I don't think this feud will affect their performance, especially in the playoffs. But it does point to the probability of Kobe bolting after this season--assuming he's not going to jail. If this is the case, and if Malone finds the Lakers experience not very pleasant, he might just retire. Then the Lakers will change from Shaq-Kobe to Shaq-Payton. Interesting.
can rox get kobe next year?? that would b awesome trade mobley, mooch, moT and anybody else expendable for him
No thanks. Can't say much for mooch or MoT. But I have much more respect for mobley than the "accused rapist". He should be banned from NBA if he's convicted. Keep him away from us even if he's innocent!!
malone should take over the team, considering he's the (hmmm nothing good can be put here) but im sure he can whoop shaq and kobe's a**
Well, Kobe will want to go to a team that: 1. Has enough cap room to give him a MAX contract. (these laweyrs are expensive, not to mention Vanessa jewelry, now that he has no shoe contract) 2. Has no franchise player, so that Kobe can be the top dog (Houston has two already), yet... 3. ...Has enough talent to help him win ballgames. 4. Makes it easy on his schedule of meetings with the probation officer. So, obviously Kobe will be a Nugget next year.
could he play for the rox and show the league hes playing with the best center in the league in yao and win a ring. man what a dream
