I'm in the rgv right now, stuck in a hospital. Hopefully Alex doesn't bring much. I think there were already some tornados in Willacy county.
Check out http://www.stormpulse.com/ for a great graphical view of atlantic hurricanes. Make sure to check out the features on the top right-hand corner. Turning on forcast models shows you a lot of different projections.
Power has been out for my entire neighborhood in The Heights for the last hour. I'm on my air card and the laptop now. Is all of this bs rain a result of the hurricane?
Here's a good blog from channel 13's Tim Heller explaining what's causing all the rain. http://weatherblog.abc13.com/2010/0...(abc13.com+Weather+Blog)&utm_content=FaceBook
The Allen Parkway underpass at Montrose was already flooded when I left downtown about 20 min ago. Had to throw my car in reverse to avert the water. Got lucky that no cars were behind me.
Man, I've had almost non stop rain for the last 10+ hours. This is amazing. My back is starting to hold water.
My parents rain gauge in Pasadena is at 10.1 inches. FUUUN ride home in the jacked up Jeep. I know people were jealous of my big tires and ease of driving home and my coolness while cruising through rivers. I knew there would be a reason to have something besides a car that rides 3 inches from the ground one day! Now they're saying if that storm forms and moves into Mexico next week we could see this all over again. At least it's cooled off. :/
Loving all the wet weather Texas is getting. Hope it keeps up. Lots of clouds, and Rain. Cooler days. No hot sun. RAIN RAIN RAIN!!!!
