Currently it's labeled "91L." It may become a TD overnight. It's moving NW headed for somewhere between NOLA and the Florida panhandle.
to add to this, there is an anticyclone over it(one component needed), real hot waters in front of it....but very little low level circulation at this time. While this still *could* end up stronger, most of the mets are figuring it isnt likely to have time to develop beyond a strong depression or weak tropical storm. if we are real lucky, it might help us get some decent rain.
NHC says there is nothing at the surface, yet. That thing on radar must be a mid level circulation. Whatever it is seems to be making a beeline for the Florida panhandle. Edit: Talking about 91L, btw.
Hopefully we don't get a storm or hurricane this year. I really don't think Houston can take another hit after Ike. I don't pray for bad things on others, I just don't think we are ready yet, Galveston is STILL recovering from Ike..
Now Ana is passing over the island i am on, during finals time. And then Bill should come right when its time for me to leave. Lets see how this plays out
Now our attention turns to Ana. Ana is doing pretty badly atm. NHC isn't even sure there is a closed low at the surface anymore. It's screaming toward the Caribbean at a high rate of speed and models show it entering the Gulf in a couple days. If there is anything at all organized left there it will be closely monitored. As we've seen with Claudette it doesn't take long for something to spin up in the Gulf.
