All inclusive and good food are almost always mutually exclusive concepts. If you are a "foodie", as you say, then you need to enjoy the local food ...which you'll never get at an all inclusive. I recommend find a bed breakfast type place or a beautique hotel and eat the local food ...you will almost always do much better esp in the Caribbean.

Just keep checking the flights. They are crazy now, but a little cheaper than they were just 6 weeks ago.

Fiji was incredible. Everything and everyone is so incredibly laid back. It was as stress free as I've ever seen anywhere. I mean it was non-existent.

For those prices it should be. Whoa, about $1000 per night!

Meh, not sure why you don't want to go to st. lucia just b/c your friends went... I went 8 years ago for my honeymoon...$5200 for me and my wife...7 days..all inclusive with minibar and frig full of alcohol; beer and any hard liquior you request. All the food you could eat...the breakfasts were incredible, the lunches and dinners were aight but there was a benihana's like restuarant (equalivalent) for evenings whenever we wanted...just need to make reservations in advance (we'll make to make reservations for all 7 days a month before we go, if we go again). And the best part...absolutely NO tipping allowed...ever.

Full gym, basketball court, windsurfing, snorkeling, and other activities all free. There were some activities that cost money...deep sea fishing, mountain biking, golf, and 10 or so more activities available...but I wasn't really interested in all that.

I did spend money on souvenirs and some inebriating goods that the locals offered us on the beach :). Twas pretty amazing. Great scenary, great beaches, great weather...I guess if you want to try to get something really cheap and close to the all inclusive experience you can look for something else, but I can't imagine going any place but st. lucia if I go all inclusive again.

The flight is 16 hours of traveling. No thanks! lol I will just keep looking for affordable non-stops or a connection that doesn't require long hours of traveling.

Not sure where you get $1000/night (unless you have 4 people). There are many different packages which all include the all-inclusive. For example:

Master/Parlor/Parlor II Ocean View: $288.00 USD per person per night in double occupancy
