One version of the origin I heard was that the phrase was an instruction to printers. Since the printing plates were made with backwards letters, the printer would have to be espescially cautious not to mix up the lower-case Ps and the Qs (though the same problem would come into play with lower-case Bs and Ds far more often, so it would seem like "Mind Your bs and ds" would've been the phrase had that been the origin.) ------------------ HoustonSportsBoard.com

in looking for supporting Babe Ruth facts (1.75 era), I came across another fun one from baseball. This is probably easy to search for though. So, pass if you don't know...i certainly did not know this. "Who was the victim of Nolan Ryan's 5,000th strikeout." [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited September 02, 2000).]

Two grand slams in the same inning Fernando Tatis, last year. HeyPee... I must've glanced by your left-handed ERA question... it would've been simple to search for. ------------------ Falk that Mo Fo!!!

"Who is the first President to see a triple play live." clock is ticking DoD...Mr. info mercenary. I would like to see you take on Mango in a battle of the best search gods.
I won't leave you guys guessing with this one, but I pulled it off a site not too long ago and it still has me firmly believing that government is a joke : 23: Number of minutes the U.S. Congress spent in October 1990 debating the administration's request for new S&L bailout funds. 40: Number of minutes spent debating a proposal to renovate the Capitol hairdressing salon. ------------------ Falk that Mo Fo!!!
that would have been easy...DoD. I've got a Harper's Index Index in my lap right now with those two answers. bring it on........ make them fun to remember, though.

Give me a required clue...does that meet my "worth remembering" criteria. My president one is going to require Life Lines for sure...here's one that is equally good and probably funner. What MLB player signed the first million dollar contract? semi-clue...it was for exactly one million, of course.
