You can trade Seven DNP players and picks for them.

 

Morey can find way less expensive options at backup C and SG elsewhere. May be legit buyout options if either become available that way...

Rockets would still be thin on the interior but the bench scoring would be much better. Having Clarkson and JR’s contract would also help in future trades.

 

TT would be great as a back up, but i think cheaper target will be a priority...JR is basically Gerald with no love for Houston and a much bigger contract so i don't see the point in trade for him, even though it seems the Rockets have some sort of interest according to the rumors we got a couple of times in the last year or so.

Thompson doesn't work financially, minute-wise and most definitely with that relationship of his.

Smitty is interesting and he'll name drop his "suggestions" shortly. No promises, but one Ear said we're a "preferred" destination. He has lots of friends in Houston, both on the team and in the area.

 

I want to improve the Rockets bench, but man, not really a fan of JR. I'd like to think Morey can build a bench a bit better than adding more from the *Island of Misfit Toys.*

 

I’m only trading for TT if they’ll take Knight straight up for him...u can’t be paying your backup C 17+ mil/yr just like u can’t be paying your backup PG 15 mil/yr...TT would at least help right away while it isn’t fair to expect Knight to bring anything of real value to the table this season
