Francis and Mobley were the Rockets from 2000-2003. When people talk about the Rockets then, it was always attributed to what both players did or did not do. They carried those teams but sad to say that most often it was not fruitful.

Doesn't T-Mac also deserve being mentioned in this thread?

    I hope so.
Francis showed FLASHES of himself when he was here
    he was not consistant yet
    and
IMOP still working his way back

I guaranteed if TMAC show any kind of flashes of himself
the TOFs will want the rockets to give him another 20 mil contract
    after one good game

    I hope Steve the best

I was hoping that Steve's second tour with the Rockets would have been more productive. It would have been a storybook ending had He contributed and help lead the Rockets to the Finals. But faith had it in another way.

My best memory of them was when they got traded. Steve was an athletic freak with a low BB IQ. If he could of ever figured out how to use his athletic ability to get seperation for his shot instead of just trying to blow past everyone he could of been great. Cuttino was a good player that thought because he was buddies with the "FRANCHISE" he was great.

My worst memory of them was when they openly politiced about not drafting Yoa and wanted instead to trade for Lamar Odom.

My best memory of them was that they both always played hard.

That's probably their worst memory as well. At least Franchise. He and Yao became really good pals. Hate them or love them there's no denying they put their blood, sweat and tears into trying to win. It would've helped if they used their brains more but thats another story.

    Best wishes.

I would like to congradulate them on making their era in Rox history the most selfish least productive era since the Rox moved from San Diego.

I'm late to the party but I loved Stevie on the Rockets. He had a real intensity for the game and made the games entertaining (for better or for worse). He'll go down as one of my favorite Rockets of all time along with Olajuwon. The dude had some springs!

I held my breath for a long time for him to make a comeback and contribute to the team, dayum I was excited.

And to Cuttino, best wishes. I'm glad it ended well, even if it was a little anticlimactic. He was always a class act and a very decent player. Both of them will always be Rockets.

BTW, as a sidenote, this was the kobe bryant sequence i was talking about earlier that clinched the division title for the lakers. the board went nuts after this win because we all felt at the time that LA was the far more favorable matchup for the rockets.

You just made me remember all the high hopes I had for Eddie. Such a sad story. :(

We also spent a first round pick to acquire Terrance Morris that year. And it was equally amazing that there were TMo only fans.

Why does everyone think Rudy was drawing up contracts and making all the picks? I mean, I know he liked Horry and Elie, and was probably instrumental in bringing them in, but there was war room draft footage available on this board for the Griffin draft I believe, where he didn't seem to be so tuned in to what was going on.

I'll always remember the Iso era. It was the period where I always fell asleep on the couch during games, and the period where it was so freaking easy to get the company tickets.

1999-2002 was some bad hoops. On the bright side, we ended up with Yao.

Because Dawson wasn't exactly an authority figure with a vision for the Rockets, he was basically a caretaker. LIkewise, Rudy did a ton of workouts and drills of players as coach - which make sense because he did a ton of scouting and continues to do so to this day.
