Looking at how many games he plays each season he’s almost as bad as Durant in staying healthy … I would lowball the hell out of NO
I don't know about y'all but Dillon has brought a ton of toughness to this squad and everyone is ready to deal him. He's not the one you deal. You deal Jalen. That's who you deal. Keep every scrappy, gritty, hard nosed baller you can get your hands on and get rid of the nail painting pansies.
The main issue with this is that a lot of the early career underutilized high potential prospects..are already on the Rockets and are already being targeted by other teams in this way because of the playing time crunch. Whitmore probably has the biggest Zubac potential, of an out of rotation player who gets thrown into a deal for a better fit. Reed Sheppard definitely fits the Dyson Daniels model of a guy who had one NBA skill and a bunch of fatal weaknesses in his first two years, and then got just good enough at everything else that he could earn minutes and use that one skill to the fullest. Depending on the extensions they sign, Tari Eason and Jabari Smith could easily be guys who get moved early on in their second contracts like Deni Avdija and Derrick White, and are seen as bargain 5th starter/6th men. And Jalen Green has the potential to shoot the ball just as much as SGA (actually making the shots and not turning over the ball is a different story).
Brooks & J Green and some heavily protected FRPs. Why not? He fits build around Amen and doesn’t need the ball to be successful. pair Trey Murphy with CJ McCollum one year on his contract. Murphy locked in for 4 years. Need all 4 for the cap to work.
Random trying to make the other teams say yes.while keeping J Green Out Brooks & Cam In Murphy Out Murphy & McCollum In Durant & Cam Out Durant In McCollum & Brooks Then picks to make it happen Role players with an injured first option.
I think it is safe to say they could have won more if Nola were not dysfunctional...... Dyson Daniels got out of there and watch now where he is, even on the mediocre Hawks.
Lol he should not be the first one to drop but declaring Brooks nearly untouchable is crazy talk too.
I never said untouchable, I said you should stack up on players like Brooks and remove players like Jalen.
You give serviceable veterans like him one extra year at the most but you do trade them the same as other players. Credit given and then off to the business side of the league. Jalen is already on his way out barring an efficient 24 ppg season.
Oh yeah. That’s exactly what we need. Two old guys that can’t drive to the hoop playing the most important creator roles on the team. PG’s and SG’s have to be able to create shots for their teammates. FVV and Dillon can’t even create shots for themselves. FVV average 5.6 assists per game which is absolutely putrid for a PG that plays the most minutes on the team. Dillon averaged 2 assists per game. Dillon is not a guard on offense or defense.
I read that the way you wrote this. IF Murphy is on the team, where is the playing time for Brooks PLUS the others. We need to thank him for his service and move forward. Murphy’s fit, play, and contract are all worth the rental of the McCollum and his chunking ways. We keep most (not all) of the youth this way too. KG will tie up the cap space. Brooks’ function on the team is much like a bridge; once on the other side we don’t have to burn it but don’t need to cross it anymore either. Parting ways is the best path to take.
