Michael Schwab on Twitter: "Mancini's adjusted salary with the Houston Astros is $2,678,585, according to Spotrac. Mancini has a mutual vesting option worth $10M in 2023. It could be bought out for $250,000." / Twitter
Tampering! Enticing Mancini to exercise his opt out. Shameful, imo. Elias, a known associate of Luhnow, knows no bounds to his cheating.
Mark Berman on Twitter: ".@astros owner Jim Crane on landing OF/1B/DH Trey Mancini from Baltimore: “He’s a good bat and he’s a good guy and we think he’ll fit in well..We still have some things we want to do.” https://t.co/MQJshQeh7E" / Twitter
Good trade. We have 3 center fielders ahead of Siri and Mancini can play different positions. Clear win without even considering he’s a substantially better hitter

I want to say Graveman was the same last year and it worked out. It looks like a tough position to be in
Please don't judge me on a 16 second clip after a life changing situation, I would be saying the same thing. Probably hasn't even set in. And if he really isn't excited, Maldy will set him straight.
current longest tenured player in Boston and went through some battles with them including getting that ring. yeah human shock sets in
I think this is the reaction I’d expect from anyone after spending 6 years somewhere. You build relationships, work hard, suddenly your company doesn’t want you anymore. Give him a couple days and he’ll be fine once he settles in.
I was going to guess Mancini or Christian Walker (Ariz) yesterday but neither hit the Yanks very well this year. But Mancini hits the Twins and Guardians well. Hopefully a matter of getting him in our park and surrounded by our hitters.
Not to mention, you're in the stadium of the team you just got traded to and have their media all up in your business as soon as it's announced.
Upon arrival, Mancini may split most of his time between left field and designated hitter. Michael Brantley, Houston’s everyday left fielder, is still nursing a right shoulder injury and has not progressed to swinging a bat. His return — if it ever arrives — seems weeks away. Manager Dusty Baker has divided time in left field between Aledmys Díaz, Yordan Alvarez and Chas McCormick during Brantley’s absence. Because the trade was not yet official, Baker could not comment on it before Monday’s game, but it stands to reason Mancini could take most of the left field playing time.
