I grew up on the dead But Trey and Phish are better. And I'm also in favor of why can't we love them both I do. But Trey is a better musician, guitar player and song writer. IMO it's not close I'm stuck in my car on Galveston beach at a beach house party with fireworks. Me and my dog are hunkered down in my car listening to phish loud to drown out the explosions on the beach Down With Disease is arguably the best song with a guitar solo rip that I've ever heard

Well, well, well, you can never tell.
I agree that Trey writes better songs, but I find Jerry to be more subtle and expressive with his playing. Trey's formula is pretty consistent: build tension and release with a bunch of high notes played really fast (Antelope, Harry Hood, and the aforementioned Disease).
Awesome thx for posting those I can't on mobile effectively Dead and Jerry do have that peacefulness that only they do. it's hard for me to say Trey is better. And I acknowledge it a stupid argument. But alas. I say this because I'm just floored by how good Phish is
I like both, but I agree with the OP when it comes to musical prowess. Trey : Jerry :: Harpua : Poster Nutbag
What did the Deadhead say to the other Deadhead when they ran out of weed? Spoiler God damn, this music ****ing sucks! Could never get into jam bands.
