can whoeverthinks he sucks explain how ariza is supposed tobe 100% effective while playing superstr minutes, while defending 3 guys at the same time?
What was everyone expecting out of him? He's exactly the kind of piece you need as a role player to win a ring. He's a Shane Battier, James Posey, Fisher, Bowen.... the problem is this roster is so terrible that we are relying on him to do more than he is capable of. We have larger glaring holes to cover.
i wanna see dekker get arizas minutes for just one night, i bet he has at least 15 points, 6 or 7 boards, and a couples assists/steals. dekker has upside as a defender too
Can you blame this team? Ariza is still an established 3 and D guy much like Battier was. The Rockets value this guy as an experienced corner stone role player that is a key component to winning a championship just like the much of the league. Ariza's shortcomings are due to declining athleticism rather than b-ball IQ. Go back and look at all the game footage. Ariza is clearly in the right position as well as making the right decision over 90% of the time at a bargain price. This is exactly the point of view from league offices. So give it a rest.
What do you say now? Like I said, a consummate professional and one of the most under-rated players here. We didn't miss Parsons one bit and those who want him traded for Rudy Gay the chucker are silly. I wouldn't trade Ariza. He is the perfect role player at the perfect contract.
IF IF IF Ariza continues to play like the past 2 games I can live with it...Capela on a roll right now. Rox become DANGEROUS if they get any kinda solid production outta Ariza and/or cough cough Brewer as we've seen over the past few games
He leads our team in steals and is always guarding the toughest players. I love the defense he brings. The icing on the cake is that he can really bring it when he is feeling the 3's, like the last two games.
Yeah, it's important that he 's shooting well, but his defense...just wow, i think in this season he's just outplaying his 2014-15 version...and that says a lot.
Ariza is awesome and has been for his entire second stint with the Rockets. Every player goes through slumps, you just need to accept these when they come.
Wtf are you guys talking about? Why would he continue play like the last 2 games? He's been a superstar last 2 games, he can't keep that up and he doesn't NEED to keep that up to be considered an excellent role player. Good defense, 36% 3 point shooting, 2 steals, and lots of effort at $7m is an excellent excellent role player. It's ridiculous that anyone would expect him to keep this amazing streak going ON AVERAGE lol. The initial idea that he sucks was ridiculous, but saying he's "good" if he keeps playing like this is equally ridiculous. He is on fire right now. Lots of playoff teams would LOVE to have him start on their teams for what he normally brings.
