    I think the board is getting a little carried away with all of the Chandler Parsons threads and there are virtually no threads welcoming Trevor Ariza which in IMO is starting to look pathetic.

    Parsons was not worth the money and I don't believe Morey would have gotten Ariza if he planned on matching Chandler. This is just a reminder that Chandler Parsons does not play defense well enough to be a starter on a championship team. Harden brings us so many positives that he is worth the defensive lapses but Chandler is not and we were not getting out of the first round with him as our starting SF. I understand if we got Bosh but we didn't. And I understand being a homer and overvaluing a player but 15 mil? for this defense? Did you guys see him against Batum?? no thanks... I'll take my chances with Ariza who actually plays defense no matter what team he is on. Our new player dropped ten threes on our old player and you guys are complaining! Time to move on.

    SO WELCOME BACK TO HOUSTON ARIZA!! Hope you drop another 30 on that douche Mav Parsons!! EFF the Mavs! Go Houston!!

    Is this supposed to be a joke? Did you really see whose defense was at fault right there most of the time (although Ariza did get hot..). Ironically, the player whose defense is under the national spotlight about being championship caliber (being generous) is Harden, and through watching the playoffs...no his offense doesn't really make up for it.

    Trevor could average an effective 14, 15 ppg at his best which is solid for a defender

    Did you watch the clip man? Did you watch the game even? Or did you just assume because they both play the 3 that parsons guarded him?

    Harden was guading Arize, he got hot and they tried switching Parsons to him.

    To be fair, Harden was on him at half of the time.

    Chandler Parsons set the Rockets record in a half.

    Does that count?

    The point is to just be happy that Ariza is here. How about talking Ariza who is actually a Rocket not whining about Parsons who is a Mav, but apparently I was expecting too much.

    Yep. The OP needs to look the the video he posted and see who is running out at Ariza on most of these shots-- it was Harden. Pretty apparent that Harden was assigned to guard Ariza. Some of the 3s were contested, a couple were open opportunities in transition scrambles, but on others Harden was just way out of position to close out effectively.

    We could have had BOTH, either by matching the contract offer or by not declining Parsons' option in the first place.

    So be happy we have Ariza instead of Parsons because Arize had a good shooting game on James Harden?

    This is a message board, people will post opinion. You are basically saying, don't be objective just pretend everything that happens to the team is a good thing.

    That's not what I'm saying at all. All I'm saying is just be happy about Ariza, but I think it was a bit ambitious of me to expect that, so carry on, lol, my bad.

    Your thread title specifically says "(Against Chandler Parson's Defense)" --which is completely wrong...so of course people are going to call you out on that. Then you went on to say that it was questionable as to whether he had championship level D, which in Harden's case makes it all the more ironic. If your intentions were different, ask the title to be changed.
