ESPN halftime crew, Mark Jackson gushing over Ariza. Both games back to back on national T.V. All of the moronic debate shows will have a field day tomorrow.
Look, I think the team can survive without Ariza. But people who said he's overrated completely ignore his ability to direct traffic (for both teams) on defense and funnel players where we wanted them to be. That was always his best trait. And he is so good at it. Tonight we were funneling players to the rim for open layups.
LMAO at everyone knobslobbing Trevor for a good game but failing to mention Luc's 0 points and 1 rebound night for the Clips.
Ariza is a rhythm shooter, he was just on rhythm tonight. There's no dispute over how valuable he was for the rockets on the defensive end and how much of a consummate professional he was. Played hard, trained hard and was always great for the team. But there's no way rocket should and would have paid 15 mil for him, so can we just move on?
Why not? Money is no object. #runitback. We can't get anyone else anyway since we're way over salary cap. It's not your money. Unless Tilman is in financial trouble... Iggy on the Warriors sure isn't worth $18 millions a year, but they have to pay him anyway because they can't get anyone else being over the salary cap. You got to overpay when you're over the cap and trying #runitback
Phoenix started Ariza, Anderson and Isaiah Cannan and beat Dallas by 21. To me, that says more about the Mavs than it does about the Suns.
Again...who cares how much is he worth. Is he better than the 15th guy on the roster? That's all the matter. Rockets over salary cap. They can't get anyone else. Just like Warriors are overpaying Livingston and Iggy, they had to overpaid because they would end up with G league players if they don't overpaid
At least we got to game 7 and 65 wins with him on the roster. Will these Ariza-less Rockets achieve that? Maybe, but not off to a good start getting blown out by the Pelicans at home.
Ariza 0 points in the 4th Q. 0/1 contested spinning 3 pointer. Seems like he’s just as effective there
Not sure even the mighty Ariza could've dealt with Anthony Davis and the way the pels shot the ball last night.
