Not defending him at all, but people respond to extreme circumstances in different ways. Scott just turned on his cruise control. George Bush kept reading kids stories during 9/11. Watch the people react in videos of sudden violence or disaster. Some people just turn around and keep walking like nothing happened.
Interesting you brought up the Bush situation. I remember that well since I was at home, packing, about to leave for College in a week. I didn’t think about Bush’s reaction and why he reacted or had the non reaction he did at the time but now that you mentioned it and giving it some thought it’s a pretty cool, calm and collected reaction IMO. It’s not like he was on the plane and in a position to pull some Air Force One get off my plane type of **** and it’s not like freaking out and sending an emergency tweet or amber alert or making a special call was an option or going to help stop what was happening. Stay cool, keep the kids calm and deal with it when you can. Travis? He was like 10 feet away and he could’ve controlled the situation way better on multiple occasions that day.

Michael Jackson played much bigger shows and nobody got killed. they wanted to maximize attendance to make money. also they should have kicked out ALL of the people who jumped the fence and didn't have tickets.
