Okay guys, I'm starting to think where to go for my late summer/early fall vacation (due to hurricanes). I would prefer beaches. I've been to Miami and Puerto Rico. Any suggestions?
trying to hold back the "... what do you consider to be 'too many' hurricanes " comment... ... trying... trying...
Brazil! But I do go to a little town in Mexico (Pacific Coast) every year to surf. The little town is small and just an amazing place.
You can also visit Miami a couple of more days and fly too the Bahamas (45min to 1hr) from there....quick trip.
Cartagena, Colombia One of the most beautifull citites in the Americas. Used to be a major port during colonial times and it's stayed the same since. Lots of colonia edifices, cobble streets, beaches and hot colombian girls. It's very safe. Probably the safest city in Colombia. A Jewel of Latin America. PS. I would say ViƱa del Mar, Chile or Punta Del Este, Uruguay but the seasons are switched. So it'll be winter when you want to go.
Aruba's beaches are amazing, but it's pretty damn crowded with tourists there. Even when I went ('99), it was already like that...and I think more and more people are going. But hey, it's probably still a lot less than the main spots in Hawaii.. I also really enjoyed St. Croix because it was the anti-tourist place. The city isn't spectacular, and the locals aren't too well-off...but the beaches are nice and clear (like the entire Caribbean), and they're private and quiet for the most part.
