Rice was charged with felony battery in January. He went to estranged wife Christina Rice's home and was said to have punched Alberto Perez several times. Perez, hiding in a closet, was cut on the forehead and needed nine stitches, police said. Perez has since told prosecutors he does not want to proceed with the case and charges were dropped Friday, said Ed Griffith, spokesman for the Miami-Dade County state attorney's office. The 40-year-old Rice played six seasons with the Miami Heat and 15 years in the NBA overall, averaging 18.3 points. He was a member of the 2000 Los Angeles Lakers NBA championship team and also played with Charlotte, New York, Houston and the Los Angeles Clippers. Rice won an NCAA championship at Michigan and is the school's career scoring leader.
Lesson here is: don't date girls whose EX's are NBA players. Because you will get stitches from Glen Freakin' Rice.
