transgendering the kids

Do you really think kids transition because it's a hip and cool thing to do?

The reason you teach kids about transgenderism is not to make them want to be transgender but to stop them from torturing kids who are. You know that though. Nobody wants to be transgender and no one wants their kid to be transgender - it's a really tough life to be born into the wrong gender and wired incorrectly. Transgender kids are big targets of bullies too.

 

Sadly there is a percentage of kids that do this, there are usually a lot of underlying issues involved, but kids can be confused and think it is easier being the other sex.

 

It's very hard to transition. It's not a decision one makes lightly and requires years of counseling before even starting. I don't know where you get this from.

 

Transitioning does not mean you get all the surgeries immediately some people transition periods take years, and it's only hormones for a while.

I was talking about kids that start transitioning and then figure out they don't want to go through with it all.

I don't see where we disagree about this.

I have no doubt there will be people that begin the process and in some cases finish the process of transitioning and regret it. The question to me is how many and what is an appropriate balance between limiting the number of those that regret it and limiting suicides and mental anguish for those that are transgender.
