I saw it last night. Honestly, the worst Transformers movie of the bunch. I loved Transformers as a kid. Watched all of the movies in theaters. Transformers 3 was also the only movie I've watched in theaters alone (sad, I know). But this one was unbearable. It started out ok as a normal Transformers movie would. Introduce the humans, have a hot female lead (the hot girl from Bates Motel), and I didn't mind the annoying geeky character. But then every human character turned out to be a Will Ferrell clone: loud, obnoxious yelling. And don't get me started on how bad Marky Mark was. The middle part when they try to hash out a story just drags so much because of how human-centric it was, and with poor humans, it just got so boring. By the last third, I was just wishing it to end. There are truly only 5 Autobots in this movie. We never really hear their names nor do we really care for them. Of course there's Bumblebee again. Why he's a crowd favorite, I will never understand, but his schtick of playing soundbites was even more annoying this time around. The jokes were awful. They weren't even corny to where you could chuckle at them. It was bad to the point of rolling your eyes. Scenes never transitioned well, either. During the action sequences, they'd jump from one location to another with no transition. Too much driving and chasing, too little Transformer action. The Dinobots were introduced in the last 10 minutes, too. So if you're expecting to see good Dinobot action, you have to sit through 2 1/2 hours of crap first. And then the ending. Omg the ending. This isn't really a spoiler as it has nothing to do with the story. It's more LOL-wtf. I'll spoiler it just to be safe, but... Spoiler since when the **** could Optimus Prime fly!? LOL. If he could've done that before, let the Autobots provide cover and fly that seed the hell away. And then he flies into space like Neo from the Matrix. LOL. I typically have liked each Bay Transformer movie as I see it for what it is: an entertaining action flick with Transformers. I just couldn't like this one no matter how hard I tried. Each movie had their Jar Jar Binks that you could stomach. Every human was Jar Jar to me.
I liked the first movie. The others were a good way to bury some time. I thought the CGI of the robot-to-car was superb right out of the gate.
I'm like "how does someone screw up a Transformers, when you have hundreds of storylines to work from ... Nevermind. Another thing about these blockbuster films...why do directors/producers/writers/execs have this insatiable need for useless human characters. It would be one thing, if they were fleshed out or awesome characters, but they're not... it's almost as bad as adding non-comic book/TV show that serve no purpose to the plot.
F Michael Bay The only good Transformers movie is this one <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/_25RK5GbJIc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Back when kids had brains and didn't suffer from AD&D and the NBA Superstars aren't divas.
Why are all the Autobots GM Cars? back in the day they were Lambos and Porsches Now they are crap GM cars. The Decepticons just have to kick the ignition switch to beat the Autobots
Went to Tomball's Imax and this movie was pretty good. I enjoyed it all the way. The human part was bearable, no comparison with Godzilla. The story was fresh. It reminded me of prometheus.
I was about to go check this out, but while Google Now-ing showtimes, I saw the ratings. Instead we checked out X-Men since we hadn't seen it yet. Sounds like it was a good move.
