Goals? JG: This year, carry my team to more wins than last year and hopefully get all-star. JG (on KPJ) We’re on the same page mentally. We talk about being the best backcourt in the league and think that’s possible. On the same page in practice, battling. I think we’re pretty locked in.
Work out with any non-Rockets? JG: I had Scottie Barnes that came to Fresno, Brandon Boston, MarJon Beauchamp, Josh (Christopher). Played a couple pick-up games. It was fun. Put on weight? JG: Yes. Last year I was around 170-173. Officially now 182-183. Muscle or eating more? JG: Started eating a lot more. Got a chef in the middle of last season. 3-4 meals a day, protein shakes, weight room, staying locked in. Get tired of eating so much? JG: I started getting hungrier. Ate 3 meals and was like I’m still hungry.
Jalen was listed at 178 lb predraft and supposedly gained weight before the start of the season and was officially listed at 186 lb last season, so apparently that was all BS, which explains some of his struggles early on. It's still good that he's gained 10 lbs, needs another 20.
Sengun, Green and even Jabari leadership and accountability sounds less like empty boasting and more like culture. I'm a fan.
If he sticks, would not be for more than 1 season. Maybe would be good coach. Not sure how he'll be able to teach how to be a giant even amongst NBA players however.
Never know he could fill a Dikembe / Nene role as the old OG giving 15 mpg off the bench for a handful of years and retire a Rocket Legend.
KJ the anti-Boban, no genuinity, no charm or warmth, and doesn't look like he wants to retire a Rocket
