Thanks Clutch , did you get a chance to see a scrimmage or something? If you did how did T-Mac and Francis look?
Another small tidbit from today's practice: Chuck Hayes had to sit out for the last part of it after Carl Landry landed on his foot causing a "contusion". Hayes said he would be back at practice tomorrow. I'll post some interviews from after today's practice later tonight. Some will be the same as Clutch's audio interviews, but some will be different.
Morey knows about the bbs probably from the employees at the rockets organization and I know he has called or clutch has called him (from what morey said) during draft night and so forth. also i mean its media day i am sure he knows all the people invited and probably saw that this was the only non-traditional media outlet invited. also i bugged him about it multiple times whether he posts who knows he may just be a lurker.
Thanks as always! Thought it was interesting to note, that when discussing Bonzi, Coach A said he will be coming off the bench. So we can lock Battier in as the starting three again (and T-Mac at the two). Rafer seems to be in better spirits -- very good to hear...
just because bonzi is on the bench doesn't mean battier is locked to the starting 3. I honestly think the starting line up will be mike james/alston (I think he's been doing well) steve francis tmac scola yao
IMO Battier will start , the reason he will start is that he will focus on defense and he doesn't need the ball in his hands at all , he will only take open shots. If we start James and Francis , with Yao and Mcgrady also on the court it's just too much mouths to feed , Francis and James are good scorers and we want them to shoot but we can't have everyone shooting the ball thats why Battier will start imo. Right now I think and hope the rotation will be Francis starting at pg , Alston backing him up , James seeing some minutes at the point maybe as well. Alston will have about 18-20 mpg imo at pg , the rest will go to Francis and James who will also play some sg. Wells will take backup minutes at sf. Scola and Hayes at pf and some center. Head and Brooks won't get much playing time , only spot minutes if we need some shooting or quickness.
Yeah Battier will start. The SG/SF distinction is irrelevant with him. he always guards the other team's best guy (which is usually the SG) so it doesn't really matter what you call T-Mac's or Battier's position. There are no defensive issues when Battier and T-Mac are on the floor together. Battier always gets the tougher guy
that's a VERY poor lineup in terms that you're taking away from the 2nd unit. u want either james/francis to play A LOT w/ bonzi so they can create havoc v. the 2nd team of the other team. francis and bonzi can start on most teams so they can even extend leads even.
True... it's not a complete lock... but I think with Bonzi out of the picture its a pretty safe bet...He has talked about Francis/James being able to play some off-guard but starting is a lot stronger than some imo. He also mentioned that he thought the bench he had in mind had a lot of energy and a lot of offensive firepower -- that describes James/Francis (whomever doesn't start) more than Battier.
Great quality in the reporting and recordings Clutch. Has anyone been able to play the Shoutcasts one after the other in a playlist? I've had to manually play the next one after the interview ends.
Nice work, Clutch. You're providing a great service for the fans who don't appreciate the mind-numbing spin that Rockets.com and the Chron guys tend to spew.
This site rocks! The Rockets can't make their decisions without ClutchFans lol. Any news about AB0.I hope he made some outside shots today.
