Guys, Yao doesn't live in a cave. I'm SURE he's heard of CF.Net. Anyone who likes the Rockets and has an internet connection has heard of CF.Net. If you google Houston Rockets, CF.Net comes up on the first page.
haha....thats how came about to know this site in the first place thanks Clutch....you da man...can't wait for your report. damn 900 users on this site at this moment....crazi.
Clutch, Surely you asked Yao his thought about Clutchfans.net? Of all his thoughts I'm curious about, this would be at the top.
Not bad for an amateur journalist!!! Already more info than on the Rockets website. And he aint even finished. Screw Rich Lord.
haha.. I like what JVG said about players getting traded.. Rafter Alston: "I got traded for Who?!?" JVG: "Mike James.." Rafter Alston: "Who???" Mike James: "Mike James!" haha..
Thanks for the update & keep up the GREAT work! Im gald us BBSers made a difference w/ the whole rockets.com thing!!
Only thing that worries me about all this media coverage of Clutchfans.net is the type of people now that will come lurking on this board. We have people here who record games on DIVX and it might become an issue this upcoming season. I hope it won't be. I'm glad Van Gundy kinda keeps the practice and all under covers so his players aren't distracted. Good Job Clutch on getting in there.. post us up...
Not to say JVG still has a grudge, but it's interesting that he mentioned Stevie as one of those guys dumbfounded at the prospect of being traded....even for a player like McGrady. Imagine that. Obviously, whether intentional or not, that's a bit of a slam against Francis. I'd expect him to do the same Odom did.
I'm taking quotes down from CD's interview and some of the things he said were that the Rockets would not have made this deal if it was not for Sura's knee. They wouldn't have even thought about it. He said this has been in discussions for a month. They had other options, but this is the one they went with and were happiest about. He felt he was much more of a traditional pass-first, shoot-second point guard than Mike James. He stressed over and over how Rafer, playing alongside T-Mac, Stro and DA, will really make the running game work. Yao's answers are short, but that is mainly because he doesn't go on for long in English. He didn't know who I was I don't think ... very, very nice guy though. Looks you in the eye, smiles a lot ... seems to care about what he's discussing.
That's awesome Clutch. Sounds like you very nearly had your very own riot. Their reason for not letting you in was ridiculous. I mean, come on. Seriously. Letting the site administrator of a Rockets fan site go to training camp as a member of the media is unfair competition against the official site? They're the official site! They are the only website that has unlimited access to anything and everything within the Rockets organization. They can literally sit down with anyone in the organization whenever they want. How does letting Clutch in adversely hurt them in any way any other media outlet allowed there doesn't? That's one of the most hypocritical things I've ever heard the Rockets claim.
