I believe a member on this board who lived in Europe and actually saw many games Boki played in person said that had the Rockets just picked up Boki [w/o Ming], they should be very very happy.

He is THAT good in the eyes of those who actually saw him played in games.

I hope that Rudy doesn't limit his skills to just shooting the 3poiner.

Pure shooters = 3 point specialist

I think that's a copout for someone that refused to learn the other
aspects of the game. The same reason you hear about guys that
can't shoot but can rebound. Sigh...

I would rather have a complete player, not perfect, just good skills
on all levels of the game. Then, build those skills up. But I don't like
specialists. Not for a guy that has sooooo much talent to offer.

I do remember Rudy talking about Yao and Griffin's roles...

He said that he wasn't going to just run plays in which Yao would be
shooting outsides shots all the time just because that was his strength .
No, he was going to play Yao on all aspects of the court, inside/outsides,
moving, running, post, facing... you name it. This is better because you
aren't limiting Yao's talent to just a "shooter" or "rebounder" etc... :)

There were a lot of complaints that Rudy (last year) was trying
to turn Griffin into the "2nd coming of Matt Bullard" by running plays
that would only allow Griffin to wait for the 3 point shot all game.
That was more of necessity, rather than a designed plan. This year
we'll see Griff in the post a lot.

This being said, I'm hoping that Nachbar will become a all-around "player"
not just a "shooter." He happens to turn into one of the leagues best shooter,
then great. But don't limit him to *just that role*.

I don't see it that way. I don't buy into all the European hype that is going on right now. People just think that every player from Europe is going to do well in the NBA, and it's very fashionable to draft a European player. I think this guy is a dud in the NBA. I don't say it to hurt people's feelings, or create controversy, I say it because that's what I think. That's my gut feel. If he proves otherwise, hey - I am happy to say I am wrong and say yeah, the guy turned out to be a steal. I don't see any hypocrisy is that.

That sure was a lot more unbiased then CLUTCHCITY.NET and Rudy's mouth. C'mon...the Rockets once labeled Oscar Torres to be a gem and compared him to Clyde Drexler!!!!!!

I'm not trying to rain on your parade here, I'm just being realistic. Hey, I'm happy if I am wrong and the guy turns out to be great, then you guys can bash me all you want...but why don't you wait until he shows some real value.

I call that, playing it safe.

You take no accountability for your choices.

You might as well just "cry wolf." Then, say, "Ooops, I was wrong. Oh well..."

What sort of accountability are you looking for? I said I think the guy will turn out to be a bust, and when he does, I won't rub it in, but if I'm wrong I know you will work it every opportunity you can get. I think you're just looking for ego boasting.

    accountability = credibility

If you are wrong. That's what you will lose. Because you decisions are
based on your hatred (troll type).

Fueled by your disgust with the 2002 draft.

Sorry, I know that NY wanted that 1st pick soooo bad...

    Too bad, so sorry... :(

To think that if NY could have gotten the 1st pick and a few more
other picks you could have truly adopted NY as YOUR TEAM.

    Boo hoo....

If you really were a Rocket fan you wouldn't have picked a screen
name with NY in it. You might as well picked LaLakers or DallasMavs.

And the reason you "think" that Boki will be a bust is because you
WANT him to be a bust.

Now why would you WANT a Rocket pick to be a bust?

    Hmmmm....?

We know why. And no. I wont rub it in. I'll just let you smolder in
    your anti-Rocket hatred.

By the way, when Houston got the #1 pick, I was the one rubbing it in to my buddies here. It's really sad that as a Rockets fan you have such a negative attitude towards another Rockets fan. It just makes me think you have a huge complex with anyone from the city of New York.

Anyway, I'm really tired of getting into this trite b.s. "I hate New York and anyone from there" crap. Since you can't debate and have to result to crazy accusations, I just have to put you on ignore.
