first, how can Lakers, after winning 3 rings straight, be used as an example of failure? I love this kind of "failure".

Second, Lakers lost this year because they didn't get as much as they used to, from Fox, Horray, and Fisher.

Third, neither Clark nor Rose is used as dedicated sub for Divac or Dunkun. Why should we keep Cato solely as sub for Yao?

Rox management need to look into possible trades, if they can't find a quality PF, train Cato as a PF. I am not saying Cato must go, but I don't think it is wise to keep him and play him only for 13 minutes. His potential and trading value are more than that.

I am open to those trades too. But Cato's trading value might be higher. It is hard to sell what we don't want to keep to other teams. Mobley is a cancer, EG is proven bust, Taylor didn't play enough to prove trading value, Rice maybe just because his contract expires in one year, Moochie &^(@#^#....

Shaq and KG have both played lots of minutes lately, and so hasn't needed backups.

Keon Clark backs up Divac, and Keon, while completely different, is not necessarily a worse player than Cato.

Malik Rose backs up Duncan and does a darned fine job of it. There was a thread lately where someone mentioned a Cato for Rose trade.

I think that having one of the best center rotations in the NBA is something to be proud of. It is nice knowing that we don't lose much (except offensively) when our backup center comes in. That being said, I would like to see Yao and Cato play together some this year. I agree that he brings a lot of defense and rebounding that could complement Yao close to the basket.

Hopefully Yao will play more and more minutes.

Kings are just loaded and they can afford playing guys less than what they deserve. Rox need to get the every bit of every player.

Rose subs for both Dunkun and Robinson, actually mostly Robinson. I am not sure about Cato for Rose trade. Cato seems to have more size and strengh and better rebounding skills. I would rather Cato than Rose for PF position. Besides, with Robinson retiring, Spurs can go after J. O'neal, and why risk the chemistry by trading Rose for Cato?

Playing Cato as 4 doesn't mean he can't play center when Yao sits. Cato is strong enough to play 30 minutes.

That is the worst idea I have heard in a while. Yao gets in enough foul trouble as it is. With Yao guarding some of the quick power forwards he would foul out in the first quarter.

Agree. There is no good way to stop freaks such as KG. But T'wolve won't ave a good way to stop Yao either. KG is also likely to go Bulls, then only two game a year to worry aobut him.

Kevin Garnett isn't likely to go to the bulls, this rumor has been there for how long? If something was going to happen then it would have happened. It's kinda like all the rumors of trading Steve Francis or Cuttino Mobley.
